Chapter 10 - The Video

Catherine's POV

                   I enter the dorm after a long night with Andrew. I put my coat on the bed and drop my bag on the desk. Then I see Natalie with her face frozen, looking at the laptop screen. I can see facebook open. It appeared as if she had just watched a video.

                   "...Catherine..." she says softly

                   "Yeah, what?" I ask, turning my full attention to her.

                   "You might want to look at this." she says, pointing to the computer screen.

                   She clicks play and I see Louis and Niall in their room. Niall is holding a guitar and they're both sitting on chairs.

                   Louis starts to say something through the computer screen.

                   "Hey, Catherine. Listen, uh..." he looks to his feet "I really need to tell you something. I've been keeping it from you for a while now. Around, three years actually." he turns from bubbly, bouncing Louis, to shy, emotional Louis, a side of him I’ve only seen once or twice. He opens his mouth to say something, but he closes it and says something else "Now, I’ve sung a lot of songs over the past few weeks on X- Factor, all for the competition. But, this next one, thi- this is for you." he starts stuttering "I, I really want you to li- listen carefully to the lyrics, cause I'm not just singing for the sake of it, I'm trying to te- tell you a message. It's a song we both know..."

                   Niall starts to strum his guitar. I don't know what song it is at first, but when Louis starts using his vocals, the name snaps into my head. It's 'Look After You' by The Fray. This was the song me and Lou loved through high school. Natalie gets off the chair so I can sit down while he sings the words

                   At first I was all like 'Aww, I remember this song!' but then, I realized what the song was about and why he was singing it to me. I sat there frozen, just as Natalie was before.

                   All this time, and I never knew, never even suspected that he loved me. I don't know what to think at the moment. All I can hear is the sound of Louis' angelic voice and the beat of my heart getting louder and louder. I feel like all of London is still. The song reminds me of what it was like back in high school. All the times we had. Me and Louis. Louis and me. I feel all the memories coming back to me, playing in my head from most recent, to the time I first laid eyes on him. The memory comes back as a flashback:
