i never hated my own video editing so much, but hey, at least its changlix. enjoy!

"hey mom, me and felix are going out—" i ran down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"going out?" my mother exclaimed, "oh i called it! where's your father? he owes me money—"

"—to the supermarket," i let myself finish in a whisper, watching her inner-fangirl slowly crumble away and immediately grow shy.

"oh the supermarket?" she huffed a forced laugh, "dear, that's exactly what i meant."

i stood with my arms crossed against my chest, one eyebrow raised in surprise as my mother scratched the back of her head with a plastered smile. anyone could see through her act, she was naturally a horrible liar.

"right we'll get going then," i began to turn around but stopped, something heavy weighing me down as i faced my mother with glass eyes. "you wouldn't mind if me and felix were actually dating though, right?" i stuttered.

my heart was echoing in my ears, hands in clutches.

her eyes grew wide in an instance, "so you two are together!" she ran towards me and proceeded to choke me. pardon, i meant — she embraced me with her motherly affection.

"mom i never said—"

"changbinnie learn how to lie without blushing first," she squished my cheeks, hugging me tight.

and so i blame my mother for my inability to lie, it was passed down to me without my consent.

"you're not mad?" i couldn't help but ask, a part of me scared to never receive my parents' approval.

"why should i be mad? i'm happy you found someone who you want to be with. i know you've been struggling, and i felt horrible for not being able to do anything about it," she faltered into a frown for a moment before she beamed again, "i'm so proud of you," she kissed my forehead, "take care of felix, he's been through a lot."

"you know about felix?" i was taken aback, tilting my head as she nodded gravely.

"i used to be really close to his parents back when they lived here many years ago. they called me earlier this year and asked if felix could stay with us during the summer until things settled down," she explained, "they're really worried about him."

i nodded slowly, comprehending her words.

"anyways i should get going, felix is waiting," i mumbled, tearing myself away from her warmth. "on a sidenote," i looked at her, "now that you know, you don't mind that the two of us share a room?"

my mother laughed at that, "oh binnie, we got your grandfather's study fixed over two weeks ago, if i would have minded and didn't see this coming — i would have told you to move ages ago."

i kind of just stood there for a moment. my mother was on a whole new level beyond my understanding.

"i'll just go," i finally told her, shaking my head as she laughed again and waved me off.

in the corridor, felix met me with an identical expression to mine — no doubt eavesdropping onto the conversation as i just took his hand into mine and lead him outside.

he intertwined our fingers together, leaning closer as we walked together downtown under the green rooftops and overbeaming lampposts.

felix was light on his feet, like a balloon, and if you were to let him go — he'd fly away.

for some reason that thought tinkered in my head, and without realising it, i held his hand tighter; in fear that he would disappear.

"hey, you okay?" felix pecked my cheek to get my attention.

looking at him, i couldn't help but smile. with a nod i assured him, "as long as you're here, then everything's perfect."

felix rolled his eyes childlishly, "you're so cheesy, and now i know who you get it from."

"hmm?"

the taller boy laughed, "as in your mom, she's the sweetest human being on earth—"

"—but what about me?" i pouted.

"you can be in third place," he pondered.

"what? who's in second then?" i demanded, flapping my free arm.

felix hummed, a smirk on his lips, "jeongin of course."

"yah!" i exclaimed and began chasing felix around the park that we walking through, "take that back or i'll kiss that smirk off your face!"

"kinky much?" felix called back at me as people turned around to look at us but we didn't care. "catch me if you can!" he sang before erupting into snsd's choreography.

i facepalmed, sighing heavily before running after him. and well, felix didn't last long.

i don't know how he expected to get away from me when i'm the one who exercises like two hours a day.

"i can't breathe," felix fell to the ground, panting as i sat beside him. he held my hand, looking at the sky as if sharing his death wish, "if i die right here, right now — tell hyunjin he's still the prettiest boy i've seen."

"have fun dying," i got up to leave but felix pulled me back down.

"didn't you say you'll kiss me if you catch me?" he tapped his lips in a pout.

"only if you take back every single word you said about my friends," i told him.

felix laughed again, his eyes as crescents and cheekbones dusted red from running. "you do realise i love you more than anyone else, right?"

"hmm, prove it then," i looked straight into his eyes, teasing.

without hesitation, felix used our close proximity to his advantage as he crashed his lips into mine and wrapped his arms around my shoulders, my hands immediately landing on his hips.

then and there, i wished summer never ended.
