Clocktower Princess

13 4 4

Imprisoned by the king
For being so honest,
Shut me in this cage
In the dark forest.
Locked in a place
That no one can access,
I tell the truth,
I'm the clocktower princess.
Pointing at numbers,
My hands are shackled.
They refused to let loose,
No matter how much I haggled.
Been here for centuries,
Waiting to be freed.
But my tick tocking is nothing
As compared to human greed.
The people of the present
Hang me on walls,
Just over their head,
Yet, never hear my calls.
Often cursed by humans
Who call me useful as a rock.
What would I know?
I'm just an ordinary wall clock.
