Chapter 2

Dan
It comes to the end of the lesson, and Dan has left Phil, he feels an emptiness now. Were that beautiful soft boy once was. It was now Lunch, and Dan would sit in the corner, again with no body to talk to. He can see Phil at a table with all of PJs friends, Chris, Louise, Casper, Joe, Sèan, Mark and Felix. They were quite a big group of friends. But they all got along. He sees Phil getting a bit enraged, Phil starts standing up and raising his voice a bit. He apologises and sits back down. Dan wonders what got Phil so annoyed. What made that small adorable little boy turn into a small Satan in a few seconds.

The bell goes, signalling the end of the day. Dan walks quietly down the path towards the gate, when he sees Phil next to him. "Hey Dan!" Phil chirps, obviously in a happy mood. Dan wasn't. "What do you want Phil?" " I was just going to ask how your day was, you know, like friends do." 'Friend? Dan had never had one, except from PJ of course, but that didn't last long.' but Dan had lots of people around him, and how didn't he know if he could trust Phil? He's the typical bad boy, you wouldn't see him talking to a newbie would you? He sees people looking at him and he just scowls at them, they all walk off immediately. Except Phil.
"Why aren't you scared?"
"There's nothing to be scared of, you're just another person?"
"I mean, why do you talk to me! I'm the BAD KID, I'm troubled! Gay! Adopted! Depressed! Why are you still here!"
"That's why I'm here Dan! I want to help you! You are a person, and you deserve a chance at a normal life! Not a life in mystery and despair!"
He was right.
"So Dan, how was your day?"
"It was pretty good. How was yours?"
"Mine was alright! I met this guy called PJ and all his friends-"
Dan flinches at the mention of PJs name. He starts to walk towards his house.
"Dan! What's wrong? Don't you like PJ or something?"
Dan notices Phil running after him, until he reaches Dans side.
"For your information, no I don't."
"Why not? He seems ok,"
"Yeah well he's not."
"Why"
"Look I don't want to te-"
"Why Dan?"
"Because he left me ok!"
There was a moment of silence after Dan had snapped at Phil, after that he continues to walk home. Noticing Phil still behind him.
"Are you stalking me or something, I don't wa-"
"I live here..."
He says, almost in a whisper as he points to the house next to Dans. A small 'oh' expression appears on Dans face.
"Well, see you tomorrow."
"Bye Phil."
Dan walks into his house and collapses on his sofa, he tries to recover from the amount of butterflies that had been flying around in his stomach since he started talking to Phil. He does admit, he regretted snapping at Phil, he was just trying to help him, and he yelled at him. His heart slowed down as grabbed some dinner and headed upstairs. Phil always on his mind.

He liked Dan

He was a genuinely nice person. But he just didn't know how to react in new situations, I guess. He tries to recover emotionally from that experience, he looks over to Dans house and notices that Dans sitting peacefully next to his pool, it was pretty sunny outside. Dan looks at Phil and they make brief eye contact for a second before Phil looks away. Soon enough he hears a knock on his Patio door.
"Phillion! It's for you!" He hears him mum shout.
"Coming Mum!" He runs downstairs to see a shirtless Dan, in his swimming trunks. A blush immediately takes control of Phils face, as much as he tries to hide it, he sees that Dans laughing and that he had noticed the blush on his face.
"Phillion?" Dan says, more like a question.
"It's a nick name my mum gave me when I was in love with Lions, still kinda am."
Dan laughs a bit,
"Wanna come for a swim? It's quite warm today and it would be a shame if you wasted it inside. "
"Uh, sure. Mum I'm going next door!"
"Ok honey!"
"Phil grabs his swimming trunks and takes off his shirt, now it was Dans turn the blush and Phils Turn to Laugh. They both walk over and have so much fun in each others company. Swimming, banting (lol that autocorrected to banging) and just having fun, as friends.
