Victoria's POV

*Shawn's throwing a party
at his new condo.*

On my way to Shawn's party, I doubted if I was making the right choice or not.

Before I noticed, I was already at his place.

I payed the driver and stepped out of the cab.

Right at the door I started to feel nervous and wanted to leave. My mind starts recalling how things ended up last time, but it was too late once Shawn saw me.

"Victoria! I thought you were not going to make it."

"Well, here I am!" I try to hide my nerves with a wide smile.

"Come in." He stepped away from the entrance and let me in.

"Wow!" His place was huge and full of people. "This is what you call a 'little reunion'?" I chuckle.

"What can I say? I didn't want anyone to feel left out."

"That's nice from you." I smile and he grins back.

He's so sweet and considerate. It's a shame I don't get to be by his side everyday now.

"Thank you." He places his hand on my shoulder. "So, the kitchen is over there." He pointed to my left. "Suit yourself!" He looks back at me and smiles.

"Will do!" We both laugh and he disappears through the dancing crowd.

Shawn? Dancing? Since when?

I approached the dance floor and saw Shawn dancing along with his buddies.

Is he drunk? He couldn't be. He didn't seem to be.

I stepped away and went to grab a beer.

I rested against a corner while taking in my surroundings. So many faces I've never seen before... are they even Shawn's friends?

"Hey!" A voice I could barely hear said panting.

"Hey." I say without turning to face them.

"Are you okay?" The voice asks.

"Sure, why wouldn't I?" I shrug and take a big sip of my beer.

"You don't look like you are."

"And why do you even care?" I scoff.

"I never stopped caring."

"Never stopped?" I frown in a mocking way.

I put my empty cup on the counter and decide to face the stranger.

I look up and never expected my eyes to meet Shawn's. I'm completely flabbergasted. Wasn't he dancing just a few moments ago?

"Would you like to talk outside?" He asks.

Still shocked I just nod.

Shawn walks through the crowded place and I follow him to the balcony.

"I see you're still feisty, eh?" He looks back and grins at me while closing the sliding doors.

"Pretty much." I chuckle nervously.

"How long has it been?" His voice turns serious.

I sigh and look into the distance.

"Not enough to forget." A sad smile slightly growing on my face.

"I'm sorry about the way it all went wrong." Shawn comes closer, but I step away.

"I know, me too." I finally make eye contact.

"Are we on good terms?"

"I don't know. I- I guess... I don't hold any grudges, but I'm still not over it."

Shawn looks surprised by my honesty and smiles faintly.

"You know, that was the greatest and the worst day of my life at the same time." He looks down.

"That's why I'm not mad. You got to live your dream, but unfortunately for me I wasn't part of it."

I can tell my words hurt him a little, but not the way they hurt me. He's really sorry, but it was the right thing to do for me, I had to let go my sorrow.

"I'm so sorry if I ever caused you pain. You'll always be my first love..." Shawn gulps debating if he should speak his mind or not.

"I'll be forever glad you got to be the one who introduced me to the world of true love and happiness, Victoria." Shawn grabs my hands and kisses my forehead.

Relieved, i let out a breath I didn't even know I was holding. This whole situation has finally come to an end.

"Friends?" I ask.

"Totally." Shawn smiles. "Let's go back inside."
