Marquise

I am scarred.
I am marred.
I am broken.
I am free.
Can you see it?
Have you found it?
Do you know it?
Follow me
through the tower
in the prison
on the table.
There I lay.
Every minute
every second
know I have to
run away.

I still feel it
deep inside me
the explosion
in my chest.
In my ribcage
broken bones
far beneath my
ravaged breasts.
Not a martyr
not a weapon
I proved useless
to you all.
While the woman
waited silently
in mirrors
on the wall.

I am scarred.
I am marred.
I am broken.
I am free.
Now I'm gone.
Still I stay.
I am all you cannot see.
I'll be watching
aways waiting
wanting you to follow me
into darkness
into nigh
all for peace and liberty.
