The boy who grinned from ear to ear,

Looked down at Alice standing here.

He jabbed his index finger left,

"He went that way," he said in a breath.

"I saw him go. He looked distraught."

He licked his paws and paused as he thought.

"Do you know why?" Another pause.

"Do tell me why," he sharpened his claws.

"Why not answer? What's the matter?

Has your tongue been stolen by Hatter?

I love that man. He makes good tea.

Especially for a cat like me.

But I digress, my odd princess.

You asked for help, I give no less."

He jabbed his index finger right,

"He went that way," his grin pulled tight.
