It was 6:45 and Harry was no where to be heard from. I started getting ready early out of nervousness so here I was, sitting on the couch in my casual long sleeve, jeans, and boots waiting for Harry Styles like I had the past year. I felt so stupid. This was a bad idea. I had waited for him long enough, I thought. Just before I got up planning to take my makeup off in embarrassment the doorbell rang.

Harry's POV

I didn't even realize I had been holding my breath until Annie opened the door all the way.

"Hi." I said. She looked incredible. Her hair was down and she was in jeans and a long sleeve that highlighted her curves. We were standing so close to each other that I could smell her strawberry shampoo.

"You're early." She said, still not moving an inch.

"I like to make an entrance." I said. I could tell we were both a bit nervous and I'll admit, I wasn't completely sure how to act around her yet.

"Are you ready to go or do you need more time?" I asked.

"Oh I've been ready for hours, I was just teasing." She grabbed her coat and I couldn't help but giggle. I think I even saw her crack a smile as she walked past me and shut the door behind her.

"So where to?" She asked as we sat in the car.

"Well, most of all I wanted to show you that I'm still that guy I was a year ago in your back yard but I know you said nothing fancy, however, you didn't say anything about it being risky so..."

Annie's POV

We drove through a big park on the outskirts of L.A. and he was being awfully quiet.

"Harry, be honest, are you taking me far into the forest to murder me?" I asked. He had a puzzled look on his face at first.

"Ha! No, not at all. Actually I just planned a small and non-fancy whatsoever picnic like the one we had. It's only another 2 minutes or so."

It felt like whenever he spoke I could breathe a little bit more.

When we did drive up, Harry opened the door for me and led me to a big red blanket on the ground with the old fashioned picnic baskets resting on it.

"This is so cute...but I don't get the risk part."

"Well sometimes people come through this area and I didn't want to be recognized. I brought some disguises for us if you're up for it." He smiled and opened up a bag in the trunk.

"What kind of disguises?"

Harry tossed a platinum long blonde wig at me and pulled one out for himself. He was still laughing to himself when he passed me some sunglasses and a scarf. I couldn't help but laugh along with him a bit, I liked seeing him relaxed.

"I have to admit, I've always wanted to try going blonde." I slipped on the wig and sunglasses and threw the scarf over my shoulder.

"How do I look?" I smirked.

"Absolutely gorgeous, lov-Annie." He laughed.

"What about me?" He slipped on his disguises quickly.

A blonde Harry wearing a scarf, a sight I never thought I'd see. I laughed so hard I almost fell over.

"That bad huh?" Now we were both laughing.

"Not bad at all actually. I think we could both use some blonde after this. Highlights maybe."

I went over to the picnic area and sat down. I'd been so nervous about tonight that I'd completely forgotten to eat and I was starving. I could feel Harry's eyes on me and I suddenly felt out of place.

"I'm sorry, I'm really freakin' hungry."

"It's okay, that's what the foods for. I've got pastas and sandwiches and your favorite little pickles in there, too."

He finally sat with me and began handing me plates of food, scooting closer to me. The funny thing was, I didn't mind. It was like being this close was natural, like there hadn't just been a whole year of us never being this close.

We went through dinner talking mostly about funny things that happened to him on tour and crazy fan stories. I'll admit, it felt really good to laugh like this again.

"I've been talking only about myself, I apologize. What's been new with you?"

Before I could answer we heard the faint sound of voices nearby. We looked at each other and I could see the panic in his eyes.

"Shit." He began to get up.

"No no no, stay. It'll be okay, just act natural." I grabbed his hand and brought him back down.

He was sitting so close to me and he didn't let go of my hand, just starred at me while we listened to the voices get quieter and quieter.

By the time it got quiet again we were still touching and I could smell his cologne. I know I didn't want either of us to speak yet but I also didn't want it to be this quiet.

I guess Harry felt the same way because he put his hand on my face gently.

"I'm so sorry Annie. For everything." He whispered.

"I know." I nodded.

He lifted my sunglasses up and I was already leaning in, intoxicated by the warmth and wanting to taste his lips again.

When we kissed it felt like everything I had ever lost had come back to me. It was almost too good to be true. It felt like I was made to kiss him.

He pulled away and just smiled.

"I missed that."

"Me too." I said.

"Are you still hungry?"

"Starved." I laughed.

He started passing me more food and I started stirring some of the pastas, all the while he didn't stop smiling for a single second.
