Capitolo Trentanove

It is almost midnight and the city is full of lights. I am watching over the plane window for quite some time now and it still feels surreal that I'm back home. I have been looking at the window ever since we entered the country and in a few minutes, the magical view was replaced by trees 

We're landing near the palace and I can see some guards that are lined up in the runway. They're dressed in their usual summer uniforms which I actually missed, surprisingly. It did not take long before we landed and got off. As soon as I step out of the plane, a young guard saluted me and I did the same. The next few guards followed and I greeted them wholeheartedly. However, I stopped at my tracks as soon as I saw who was on the other side of the red carpet

T'was my brothers. They are all here. My heart swelled with happiness and my eyes started to feel watery. They have warm smiles on their faces and arms spread out wide. I did not hesitate to run into their arms as they engulfed me with a hug

Oh I missed them so much

Also, I was crying really hard

"Aw, I think our bambina did not changed a bit. She's still a crybaby" my older brother said

"Hmpf, don't be mean. I just landed" I said while wiping my tears

"Grande Sollera, we missed you!" [big sister] my younger twin brothers said and I looked at them in awe. They looked so matured now and I felt a slight ache in my chest for a fact that I did not witnessed how they grew up. I hugged the both of them, "Oh Ethan and Evan, you both look like men now. Mi dispiace if grande sollera was not by your side for years. I will make it up to you guys, lo giuro"[I'm sorry] [big sister] [I promise]

They grinned, "Va bene così, non fa niente!" ,  Evan said [It's all right, it doesn't matter]

"Sì,sì,sì!Non ti preoccupare, we understand", Ethan said [Yes, yes, yes! Don't worry]

I laughed and messed up their hair because they're just too cute and never changed. Still have a lot of energy even though they look like fine young men now

"Hey!" they shouted in unison but I just laughed together with fratello

"Come along now bambina, pappa is waiting for you" fratello said 

I think my heartbeat stopped for a moment. This is it, I'm finally going to see pappa and I didn't know what to say or how would her react. I do miss him, so much that my heart is aching once again

I sighed, I guess my heart will be restless for a while in the first few days of being back in the kingdom

The twins walked first then soon enough, we followed. I felt fratello's hand on my back, guiding me. I guess he felt my uncertainty to move and nervousness. I looked up and I saw him smiling at me, "You can do it" he encouraged me and I nodded in response

We were led by a guard and the private secretaries of the twins and my older brother. We walked for about 15 minutes until we reached the main palace and the 2nd floor. The guard entered my pappa's bedroom and announced our arrival

"His Majesty, King Stephen of Connel, His Royal Highness Prince Ethan, Prince  Evan and Her Royal Highness Princess Amelia" the royal guard announced

I was the last one who entered and I mentally prepared myself with what I have to face. The golden double doors are open and I can see my pappa's favorite chandelier and painting. My eyes wandered from top then it unconsciously found my pappa's smiling face. I was frozen when I saw him. He looks really old and is supported by his cane. He's wearing his usual tux but his sickness is not clearly evident since he's still standing proud
