Manik's pov

5:20 AM, is the first thing that catches my eye when I wake up. It's been years i don't need an alarm clock to wake myself up. I have got it in my circadian rhythm. Brushing my teeth I got ready for my morning run. Morning and run are the best time to think. Think everything, about everyone. And it's best way to reveal stress and frustration which I don't have any at time. I plugged in my EarPods and started the run.

Tomorrow is the engagement. I really didn't expect it so fast. And then marriage. But what after that. I stay in Bombay but still don't own a house. I stay in a rented place, but marriage brings responsibility. She's leaving her own house, I atlest owe her a house. But even flats are too expensive in Mumbai. And I don't want to ask money from dad. Loan? But if i take a loan then EMI? Now the expenses are also going to increase. There's too much in my plate now. Let's see when the marriage date comes out to be tomorrow.

I increase my pace and run faster. It's been almost 7 when I come back home. My phone pings with some morning messages. And I quickly text Nandani a morning message too.

Taking a shower I get into my black jeans and a white teeshirt and head down for breakfast. And to my utmost surprise Cabir is on the dining table for breakfast. But snoozing on the table. I pick up my newspaper and hit him on head.

"Good morning baba!!" He sings while i flip in the newspaper and read.

"Cabir , how many parathas you'll have? Manik  will you have parathas?" My mom screamed from the kitchen.

"4 no 5 no 6. Yes 6." Cabir said. This boy is still can't decide how many parathas to eat how do dad expect him to have career decisions.

"I'll have bread omelet mom." I said still looking into my newspaper.

In a minute I heard giggling of Cabir. I ignored. But it carried on to be something more than a giggle. I looked up and found Cabir with my phone, laughing like a mad man, which he is.

"CABIR! Yar how many times i have to tell you don't touch my phone! Please yar." I shouted and snatched my phone harshly. Watsapp again. I glared at him but he's still laughing.

"What? What are you laughing at?" I shouted again. But he payed no heed and still laughing. Fuck him. I held nape of his neck and pulled him and hit hard on his back in a fist.

"Aaaa Baba!! Lagta hai ...... mom..." he shouted, ahh that feels good. But he again started laughing in the awkward position too.

"Manik, leave him. Cabir stop irritating him are you guys kids? Stop it." My mom came to his rescue.

"Manik leave him, chota hai vo, tu toh bada hai na , leave him." My mom said her evergreen dialogue which i have been listening since this brat was born.

"Chota? 20 saal ka ghoda(horse) ho gaya hai ! Tell him not yo touch my phone. Or else I'll kill him now." I said still chocking him.

"Ohh hoo, early in the morning 3rd degree..." my dad said descending down the stairs.

I left him, and he breathed in relief. "What did you do Cabir?" My dad asked as my mom came on the table with breakfast and Cabir started laughing again.

"Don't ask what i did ask what baba did..." said Cabir and I rolled my eyes. What did i do?

"What did he do?" Dad and Mom asked in a union.

"He...." he again laughed. "He sent Nandani bhabhi, a "good morning forward" message, that too which was originally sent to him by Subodh chachu" he said and everyone started laughed.
