Winter killed winter,
The chilling frost falls
Buries the footprints in the past
Sad and melancholic.

The ice begins to melt at last.
No shorter nights and longer days
The winds of hope and life take flight.
Roaring through the valleys.

Clear skies, wooly white clouds,
Gusty breezes in the morning light.
The high pitch of faith
Tears a hole in the mourning heavens.

Mourning roots of the earth,
Sleeping veins and leaves awaken,
Smiling blooms appear,
A new life after death sprouts.

Now her long journey home begins,
Knowing she'll be back this way,
Upon a sad, late winter's day,
Bring a new string hope array.
