you brought me on a date today

our very first date.

i was feeling happy after a long time.

you brought me to the park,

after asking me out on tuesday for a date on saturday.

my heart was pumping, the butterflies in my stomach fluttering.

all seemed so, so perfect, perhaps even too perfect

the fairy lights dawned the surroundings,

a tent set up, almost like a blanket fort,

a picnic blanket laid on the ground with a basket next to it,

chocolate covered strawberries nicely set up on a plate with more food surely to come out of that basket.

it was perfect

and i was in heaven.

i wondered if i was really worth everything you had prepared.

how long did this take? i'm flattered you would think i was this worth it.

we sat there for 3 hours, enjoying the food, the breeze, the scenery,

and i, enjoying the company i had with you.

we talked about our favourite things, about my love for cuddles and books

and you blabbering on about the music you loved and how fun it was composing music and lyrics

and i loved that about you.

i loved how you could talk about your passion for hours on end,

i loved how you had so much passion for music,

the music that inspired me to pick myself up after hearing it from the music room

and most importantly,

led me to find you.
