Chapter Six

                          - Regina's POV -
After the big argument with Hook the night previous, I had decided to leave things alone for a while. Things between me and Hook had gotten rocky and I wasn't sure if we would be able to mend them.

Later on that evening I decided to go to grannies for lunch, I grabbed my coat and swung my bag onto my arm, I walked out onto the porch before walking down the steps and towards my car.

I stop outside before unlocking it and throwing my bag onto the passengers seat. Then walking round to the other side and swinging the door open, I stand there and begin to pull my coat on.

As I pull my arms through I notice someone appearing towards the gate and I glare over concerned before I notice who it is
....
Hook.

I stare as he realises I noticed him before making his way over, I slowly pull my coat on before buttoning it up and glaring back up at him, now standing in front of me.

"Hook" I snap before crossing my arms, he looks at me desperately and clearly upset about the situation but I do not budge.

"Regina, can we talk please" Hook says quietly but stern and I pause for a moment, my arms still crossed before replying

"Sure" I say indicating towards the house and closing my car door before walking back inside and Hook follows.

We walk in to the living room, I sit down across from him, I sit formally with my legs together and place my hand on my thighs before glancing at him, trying to read what he's come to say.

He sits down and leans inwards towards me before sighing

"Regina..I I wanted to apologize for the way I acted towards you before love, I understand if you have moved on and I should accept that and not get angry at you" Hook said and i gaze up catching his eye with a guilty look.

I couldn't help but feel guilty after all the things I had done, sleeping with Graham...well nearly, crashing Hooks date with him and Emma as well as playing with his feelings.

I looked down trying to hide my feelings before glancing up at Hook.

"No, Hook I want to apologize to you. I should of never acted out the way I did and do those..." I cleared my throat thinking of an answer "those...mistakes".

I replied now breaking eye contact and wavering my view around the room awkwardly at the sudden flashbacks to what had occurred before.

"And if you have moved on to Emma then that's fine..." I added and Hook paused for a moment obviously realizing about his recent actions with Emma

"Me and Emma are-" but before Hook could reply I cut him off and blurted

"Because I'm with Graham now so...you know" I spat out trying to think of a reply that covered up the way I felt.

I knew it was stupid to say and it was a complete lie but I couldn't help but feel I needed to look like I had moved on.

Hook sat for a while still silent before nodding and getting up

"Yes, well I was just actually going to say that me and Emma are getting much closer, in fact I'm going to see her now and all day tomorrow too" he blurted before walking towards the door and I followed behind slowly thinking about what this meant.

I had just lied to Hook about me and Graham being together but Hook is back with Emma so maybe this is a good thing.

He opened the door and stepped out onto the porch before I held round the door frame and leant against it. Hook began to walk down the path and I sighed knowing we had made up and things were...I guess okay between us now made me feel a bit better.

I watched as he went out of the gate, I was a bit upset wondering if maybe he didn't realize it was in fact my birthday tomorrow but I guess not as he mentioned about having plans with Emma and I didn't expect anyone to know anyway.

The only person who I had ever told was Snow when she was younger but I don't think she remembers now, so I assumed my birthday would be spent with just me and Henry again which I didn't mind.

Hook walked onto the pathway out by the road and disappeared past the hedges, I sighed before closing the door.

                        - Hook's POV -
I past the hedges and as soon as I was out of Regina's sight I began to pace down the path. Everything that had just occurred was very overwhelming, Regina had told me that she was with Graham again and I had just lied to Regina that I was back with Emma because I didn't want her to think I hadn't moved on and I was still waiting and now I'm going to have mess with Emma's feelings and be going against my own.

I sighed before thinking about how maybe the surprise party for Regina would change things, Regina thinks that no one remembers it's her birthday tomorrow but she of anyone should already know by now that Snow cannot keep her mouth shut and told everyone as soon as she could about the plan.

We had planned to have one of our regular meet ups at grannies but this time surprise Regina with a birthday meal occasion. Everyone had been decorating grannies diner and the seating outside area ready for tomorrow and the presents had been, being hidden away out the back by the laundry room.

Shockingly Regina is well known in this town, and I'm assuming like all her old birthdays in the enchanted forest she had many guests and presents back then.

Regina hadn't mentioned anything to me about if I remembered but I could tell she thought we didn't. We know because Henry had told us how she had already been excited to spend it with Henry once again when in reality Henry knew that wasn't going to happen.

That night we set everything up ready before granny closed the diner in preparation for the big day tomorrow and we all headed home.

The plan was that Henry would go home as normal, and then tomorrow ask Regina if they could go for a birthday lunch as normal but this time they would be surprised with a special birthday plan for her.

I got back to grannies bed and breakfast before getting into bed, I laid still staring up at the ceiling wondering how tomorrow would go.

Whether me and Regina would happen or if I would have to keep masquerading this cover between Emma and me or if Regina would continue what she had with Graham, who knows.

I turned over and switched the lamp off and the room turned to darkness before I leant back and let out a huge huff before closing my eyes and falling asleep.
