TW: Say goodbye to Connor kids it's time for him to gooooooooooooo (Which means, suicide warning pls don't read it you get triggered)

Evan's POV

Evan had finished his letter.

It was so... bleak.

How could he show this to his therapist without his therapist putting him in a mental asylum?

And then his mom couldn't afford it so she would have to get a third job and she already barely got any sleep but how could she sleep knowing her only son was so crazy they put him away and soon she wouldn't even visit him because of shame and then Jared wouldn't get his car allowance and he would never visit either and Alana would probably only come because of her resume and slowly he'd really go crazy and then he would really be a disappointment and everyone would hate hi  -

"Evan Hansen?" A calm, cool voice said.

Evan wasn't expecting the owner of the voice to be Connor Murphy.

"C-C-Connor?" Evan looked at his hand. A letter was clenched in his fists.

"Yeah," Connor replied slowly. "So, how'd you break your arm?"

"I fell out of a tree."

"Oh," Connor almost smiled. "That's the saddest fucking thing I've ever heard."

"Yeah.'' Evan looked down. It was uncomfortable, to say the least.

"I see no one signed your cast yet." Connor pointed weakly at Evan's cast.

"Yeah, no, I know," Evan's ears grew red.

"I'll sign it."

"You d-don't have to," Evan quickly stopped him.

"You got a pen?" Evan handed him the Sharpie uncertainly.

Connor grabbed his arm harshly.

"Ow!" Evan nearly wrenched his arm back.

"Oh, fuck, sorry." Connor scribbled his name in big letters. "There. Now we can both pretend to have friends."

Evan smiled slightly. Maybe Connor wasn't too bad. "Yeah."

"Is this your paper?" Connor motioned to the letter.

Evan reached for the paper. "Yeah, can I, can I have it?" But it was already too late. Connor was reading it.

"What the fuck? Why is Zoe mentioned?!" Connor seemed to be enraged. "Oh, I get it. This is some sort of sick revenge plot, huh? Tell the whole school how the freak freaked out?"

"N-N-No, it's ju -"

"WELL, YOU TELL THEM! SEE IF I CARE!" Connor left the library, stuffing the letter in his pockets, his eyes red with fury.

Evan watched him go, his heart plummeting more by the second.

oOo

Zoe's POV

"Mom, it's just a party! It's not like I'll get pregnant or something!" Zoe argued.

"No, you are not going." Cynthia said levelly.

"Why not?" Zoe shot back.

"Zoe, I was your age once, I know what happens at these kinds of things." Cynthia finished restocking her cupboards.

"Fine! Be that way!" Zoe stomped up the stairs and into her room.

It wasn't fair.

Connor could do whatever the hell he wanted but she still couldn't.
