Downfall

PAN SHOOK HIS head, pointing his finger accusingly. "You're lying. You're just worried the heroes will come and kill you permanently."
"I tell the truth. The girl will be your downfall. So get rid of her as soon as possible, wipe her memories so she'll never return."
With that, it flew away and left Pan wallowing in his anger. He couldn't send Evelyn away. Could he? But he didn't want to die. Not after his defeat by the heroes. He wouldn't fall by a girl, he wouldn't allow it. There was that small part of him that fought back against him, telling him that the shadow was wrong and that the girl wouldn't be his downfall.
Pan walked back inside the treehouse and looked over at Evelyn's sleeping figure. She looked so peaceful and at ease. Her brown hair falling on her shoulder and the covers laying on her chest.
He let out a sad sigh. She changed him so fast. In the blink of an eye, he fell for her and he couldn't stop himself. Never did the Peter Pan, the one who people feared, fall in love. Love was weak.
"Peter?" Evelyn's tired voice called as she opened her eyes tiredly.
