Part X- Confrontation of the Insomniacs

"I would NEVER stay up all night. That would be immature." She said bringing her hand to her chest.

"Uh-huh" Nemesis said. Passing the arm she was holding to Maddy. She swiftly walked over and picked up Fire bridal style. She tried to wriggle free, but Nemesis had a strong grip on her. "NNNNEEEEMMMEEE" Fire complained.

Nemesis pretend to not hear her as she talked to Carter,"I told you I would tie you down to that bed so you could actually sleep for once."

"Sex fetish." Fire said with a fake cough. Nemesis glared at her. "I'm not joking." She said walking away with fire in her arms. Fire tried again to get out of her grasp. 

"You'll never take my alive!!!" Fire screamed

"That can be arranged." Nemesis replied.

"Hey, just because I'm in this position doesn't mean I can't hurt you very painfully either."

Nemesis sighed and walked into Fire's room, dropping her down on her black and gray duvet. She took a make-up wipe and started wiping at the girl's face. Fire let out a noise of protest.

"Just making sure you don't have any concealer or any other make-up on." Fire let out a huff.

"I'm in bed; doesn't mean I'll get to sleep."

"Then I'll sit here and wait. I just have to make sure that you don't get out of bed."

"Well I'm flattered and all that you want to stalk me, but when all's said and done, I think you and Carter would be a better fit."

"You're lucky that you're my friend." But all Fire did was grin.

Carter held a triumphant smirk on his face as he saw Fire being carted away. "Oh don't think we're done with you." Kat said as she threw his arm around her shoulder. Maddy doing the same thing. " You are just as bad as her." Maddy added on. Carter let out a sigh. Well, it was going to happen eventually.

Maddy and Kat dragged Carter off to his room and Shat went to join Nemesis.

Maddy and Kat dropped Carter on his bedsheets. Kat dragged a chair over and sat by his bed. Maddy dragged a chair over and sat by the door and turned off the lights.

"Sleep should be catching up now." Kat said in a detective like voice. "How long's it been. Three days? Four days? A week and a half?" Kat continued. "Come on. You have to get some sleep!"

"Guys... it hasn't been all too long! like only... only-" Shat timidly poked their head around the corner.

"Umm, Maddy, we've discovered some sort of ant infestation under Fire's b-bed."

"ANTS!?"

"Nemesis has volunteered to switch for a bit."

"Of course she would." Kat facepalmed. Maddy rushed out of the room to deal with the ant problem immediately.

I CAME IN LIKE A LIIIIINE BREEEEEEAAAAKK!

Later that night, when the two insomniacs had been securely locked in their rooms and anything remotely interesting had been removed. Kat was snoring hard, and Shat was dreaming about their latest book. Maddy was scratching in her sleep. Ants... Nemesis was securely asleep in her over large room. A soft creaking was to be heard as Fire cautiously pushed open the skylight in her room, and used her makeshift crane to lift herself through the skylight. She somersaulted across the roof and pulled down her black beanie. Her small red flashlight illuminating the roof in swatches of firelight. She jumped down from the edge and into the courtyard outside the lab. She turned to walk inside but bumped into something. She jumped back and let out a bit of a shout before she realized it was Carter and that he had done the exact same thing. She giggled and knocked him jovially on the shoulder,

"Looks like we had the same idea. Huh bro."

"Looks like it sister. Shall we head to the lab?"

"But of course my dear sir. What are you working on toni-"

"Not so fast imbeciles..." A figure on the roof spoke.

"Neme!"

"Nems!" And yes it was indeed Nemesis, looking rather scary in elbow high black gloves, a billowing trench coat and a coils of blank nylon rope hanging from both her sides. Combat boots banged on the shingles as she front flipped to the cobblestones below.

"Don't call me that Carter. Now I'm taking you two to your beds. Right. Now."

"How?" asked Carter, spreading his arms and looking around, "Do you plan on doin' that." Nemesis gave him a quick, Oh shut up sort of look and took two steps forward, grabbed them both by the ears and stomped inside dragging them behind her.

"Ow ow ow ow!"

"Let go of us!"

"Shut up."

"Hey, where are the others?" questioned Fire

"Still asleep." explained Nemesis as she dragged them down the hall, "I knew you wouldn't be able to sleep, so I stayed up and waited, and sure enough, no more than an hour passed before you both slipped out. I'll admit that the skylight was awfully clever Fire, but, damn Carter I didn't know you were skinny enough to army crawl through the air vents." Fire rolled her eyes. "I'm gonna have to force feed you I swear."

Fire and Carter found out the next morning just how difficult it was to get out of Nemesis' mess of ropes and knots. Damn, where did that girl learn to tie.
