Chapter 14

Clary POV

I headed out of the institute with Jace and we both naturally headed for Takis. We were walking in silence to Takis and ordered food for everyone. I carried the bag of food while Jace carried the drinks and we walked back to the institute in silence but Jace spoke up

"Clary I know we haven't talked recently but I'm happy for you and Alec and I hope in time you can forgive me and trust me again"

"Thanks Jace and just so you know I have already forgiven you and I'm learning to trust you again just give me a little bit more time" I said turning and smiling at him

"Friends?" He said putting his hand out gesturing for me to shake it

"Friends" I said pulling him into a hug again. He stiffened slightly but then relaxed and hugged me back with the one arm that wasn't holding the drinks

"Can you please create a portal now its freezing" Jace said and I laughed

I handed him the food bag pulled the stele out of my boot and drew a portal

We ended up in the kitchen where Izzy was standing over a pan cooking some brown sludge and Alec was making a face at her

He looked over at us "thank god" he said pulling the pan from Izzy's hand and shoving it in the bin

"Hey, what about the pan" Izzy said looking at Alec

"It had to be sacrificed Iz nothing was going to bring it back from that brown sludge" Alec said and Jace and I laughed

"It was carrot soup actually" Izzy replied with her hands on her hips

Jace and I put the food and drink on the table and everyone dug in anyway ignoring Izzy

Alec POV

"How's your shoulder" Clary asked as we were getting into bed. We still had separate rooms but Clary basically slept in my room most days

"A lot better. I think its mostly healed"
I replied

Clary nodded but I could tell something was up

I walked over to her and grabbed her waist so she was pulled closer to me.

"Hey what's wrong, love" I asked as she wrapped her arms around me and buried her face in my chest

"I'm just worried about Sebastian, he's already hurt you once I can't let him hurt you or anyone else maybe I should go with him and stop all of this" she said looking up at me with sadness written all over her face

"No" I said "I only got grazed besides no one at this institute is handing you over and I promise we will protect each other, nobody else needs to get hurt and we will stop Sebastian" she nodded and gave me a sad smile.

I pulled her closer and kissed like it was the last thing I would ever do "I am never letting you Clarissa Fray, I will love you to the ends of the earth and beyond" I said and she smiled as a tear ran down her cheek

I quickly wiped it away and she hugged me tightly. "I love you too Alexander Lightwood,always and forever (the originals ;)

"Let's go to sleep, red" I said and Clary nodded climbing into the bed with me. I held onto her tightly as we drifted to sleep.

Clary POV

I had received a fire message earlier from Sebastian and we agreed that he wouldn't hurt anyone if I went with him. I decided not to tell anyone because I knew they would just try to stop him.

I waited until Alec was asleep before slowly climbing out of bed. I quickly changed into my shadowhunter gear and put my stele in my boot. I grabbed some paper wrote 'Always and forever. I'm sorry X'  and left it next to Alec's bed. I then kissed his forehead and slipped out of the window. When I was far away enough I made a portal and stepped through

Alec POV

I woke and discovered my bed empty

"Clary, love?" I called but no one answered
I opened the door and looked down the corridor but there was no one there. I closed the door and turned around to see a little piece of paper next to my bed

"Oh Clary" I said as I read the note and I felt a tear roll down my cheek.

Next chapter will be longer sorry if I start updating less its because school has officially started so I don't have as much time to right anymore. Some of you will get the quote from the originals. Hope you enjoy it. At the risk of annoying people i actually prefer the vampire diaries to the originals
