Clary and Alec

Chapter 5

Alec POV

I quietly went back into my room to see Clary still sitting on my bed, playing with the edge of her top. She yawned slightly and I looked over at my clock

10:00pm

"Let's get you back to your room" I said as she nodded and stood up

I walked behind her as we entered her room

"I'll be out in a minute" she said before heading to the bathroom and I nodded, sitting on the edge of her bed

She walked out 2 minutes later wearing little pajama shorts and a tank top. She hopped into bed next to me and I was about to leave when she grabbed my wrist and looked up at me

"Please don't leave" she whispered

She looked so small and vulnerable as she moved over so I could sit on the bed. She cuddled up against me as I wrapped my arms around her tiny frame and she closed her eyes

I tucked a small piece of hair behind her ear as she looked up at me and smiled

"Thank you for staying Alec" she said quietly as I looked back down at her face and smiled

"No problem" I said "now get some sleep I have a feeling tomorrow is gonna be a long day"

She snuggled further into my chest and I kissed her forehead

"Good night Alec"

"Good night Clary" I replied and I drifted off to sleep with a smile on my face, holding her in my arms

Clary POV

I woke feeling a pair of arms around my waist and carefully turned over. I saw Alec sleeping next to me and slowly edged out of his grasp, but he held on tighter so I laid on the bed and waited for him to wake up. I watched him sleep as I could not get back to sleep. He looked so peaceful and relaxed lying on the bed with his hair flopped over his face. I carefully slipped my arms out of his grasp and brushed his hair out of face

Suddenly his bright blue eyes were staring at me and he carefully loosened his grasp on me so I could move. We lay there staring at each other for a few minutes and he opened his mouth to speak but was cut off by Izzy bursting through the door with Jace next to her

Alec quickly jumped out of the bed and as I turned to face Jace and Izzy the events of last night flooded back

Jace.

Kaelie.

Crying.

Alec hugging me.

Overhearing Alec and Magnus breaking up.

Jace looked angry as Alec jumped out off my bed and Izzy stood frozen but with a big grin on her face

Jace POV

As Izzy burst through the door I saw Alec jump from the bed and then I saw Clary with him. I felt a wave of jealously overwhelm me as I glared at Alec

"WHY ARE YOU IN MY GIRLFRIEND'S BED?" I screamed as I lunged at Alec. He dodged out of the way over towards where Clary was standing. Before I could take another shot Clary stood in the middle of us and screamed "STOP!"

Alec POV

The door burst open into Clary's room and before I knew who it was I jumped from the bed and looked over to see Jace and Izzy. She was smiling at me and Clary but Jace's face was filled with anger and jealousy

Before I had the chance to make sure Clary was okay Jace lunged at me screaming and I quickly dodged, running to the other side of the bed where Clary was standing. I could see he was about to take another shot but Clary stood between us and shouted at him to stop. She was... defending me?

She quickly glanced at me and gave a small smile then turned back round to Jace. She started talking in a calm voice but I could hear the anger in it as she talked

Clary POV

I stood in the middle of Jace and Alec because I could tell Jace was not going to stop. I glanced at Alec to make sure he was okay and turned back to Jace. I tried talking as calmly as possible but rage was filling me

"You no longer have a right to call me your girlfriend after cheating on me with Kaelie, and you have no right to come barging into my room blaming Alec when HE is the one WHO HAS COMFORTED ME AND STAYED WITH ME ALL NIGHT!" I shouted at the end because I couldn't hold it in anymore

Jace looked at me with his mouth open, glanced at Alec then looked at me again. Before anyone could say anything Izzy came up and slapped Jace hard across the face

Izzy POV

I got back late last night with Simon so obviously I was curious when Jace looked tired and annoyed the next morning. I asked what was wrong but he said nothing and made his way to Clary's room so I followed wondering what was going on

As we burst into Clary's room and saw her with Alec I couldn't help but smile. I always thought they had a special bond, their friendship had grown a lot over the past two months. Even though he said they were just friends I could see it was more than that even if she was with Jace and he was with Magnus. I stood quietly listening to everything but I was shocked at what I heard. I can't believe he would cheat on Clary. I walked up to Jace and slapped him hard across the face, screaming "HOW COULD YOU?"

Maryse POV

I heard shouting coming down the hallway and then Isabelle screaming. I looked over to Jocelyn and Luke who had the same confused expression as me as we sat in the kitchen. The shouting got louder so we all hurried down the hall to Clary's room where everyone was standing

"What is going on?" I asked looking at all of them "Izzy, Alec care to explain what all the screaming is about" 

"Why don't you ask Jace" Izzy spat as she looked over at Clary and said "training room?"

Clary simply nodded before smiling quickly at Alec and glaring at Jace, then leaving the room with Izzy

Now I was left with my two sons standing in Clarissa's room and her parents behind me

"Both of you are not leaving this room until to you tell me what just happened " I said as I walked into the room looking up at both of them

Jocelyn POV

As Luke and I quickly followed Maryse down the hall my mind was blank. What was happening?

As we entered Clary's room I stood behind Maryse holding Luke's hand. Maryse starting talking and I knew she could control the situation so I just watched behind her as did Luke

Once Izzy and Clary left only Jace and Alec were standing in the room both looking nervous but angry at each other

"Both of you are not leaving this room until to you tell me what just happened " Maryse said

Alec and Jace both looked at each other and Jace unsurprisingly opened his mouth to talk, but was cut off by Alec who explained everything

Alec POV

Mother was standing in the doorway with Jocelyn and Luke behind her. I knew as soon as they found out Jocelyn would hate Jace and be annoyed at me but right now I didn't care. I just wanted to find Clary and make sure she was safe so I started talking

"Last night Clary walked into my room crying becuase JACE slept with Kaelie. Magnus and I comforted her then he went home and I stayed with Clary in her room only to sleep because she asked ME too" and with that I walked out of the room leaving Jace on his own to deal with Mom, Luke and Jocelyn
