Happy, Carla, and Lily had caught up to Lucy and was glad that she didn't go far. She had made her way to the park and was walking aimlessly. Her clothes were drenched by the cold rain and she had set her hair loose.

"Lucy!" Happy flew over to her.

Lucy's eyes were blank and lifeless as the rain fell on her face.

"Lucy, you're going to catch a cold like this," Lily shook her.

"Let's go back, okay?" Carla asked.

"Go back?" Lucy mumbled as she let out a slight laugh. "Is there even a place for me to go back to?"

The three exceeds stared at Lucy and remembered back to the days when Natsu and the others had mistreated her so badly. At that time, she looked the same way as she did now, but more lifeless. Tears rolled down onto her eyes as she broke down, crying and sobbing.

"Why?! Whhhyyyyyyy?!" she cried out in agony. "Why...?"

Lucy wanted to say something but felt as if something was lodged in her throat. Her chest was tight and heavy. It was suffocating. Happy, Carla, and Lily sat there, holding Lucy, as they looked on with sadness.

"I love him! I love him! Yet why?!" Lucy cried out, her tears mixing with the rain and her voice a tormenting pain. "Why did he do this to me? I loved him."

"Lucy..." Carla said.

Lucy's tears continued to fall as the rain drenched her from top to bottom. She cried into her arms as she kept on letting out tormenting screams of anguish and pain. Not once had they seen Lucy cry like this. Her voice was heart-wrenching and the three just wanted to return back to where Laxus was and give him a good beating. After a few minutes, Lucy's sobs quieted and she collapsed onto the ground.

"What did I ever do?" Lucy mumbled before giving in to her unconsciousness.

"Lucy?!" Happy yelled in shock.

Lily changed into his battle mode and picked up Lucy in his arms. "We should find a place to stay at first."

Happy and Carla agreed. They found their way to the nearest inn and decided to rest there.

In the inn~

The rain beat against the window in stable rhythm with no sign of the rain stopping. So the three waited, settling around Lucy. The lamplight flickered a bit in the dimly lit room. Lucy's skin was ghostly pale and they could see the continuous flow of tears from her eyes.

"I can't believe him," Lily muttered.

"He's even worse than Natsu," Happy cursed. "A whole year we've spent together and in the end, he did that to Lucy."

"But what I don't get is why did he do that," Carla remarked, tightening her grip on her dress.

"Who cares anymore? All we know right now is that he left Lucy," Happy said.

Silence filled the room. What Happy said was indeed true. No matter what reason he had, he left Lucy of his own free will. Instead of suddenly saying that to her, he could've taken his time but he didn't. Now, Lucy laid there on the bed, unmoving. She didn't even have the chance to tell him of the news. The exceeds were at a lost of what to do.

"First things first," Lily said. "Lucy's health is our priority."

"Yeah," Carla agreed. "Let's wait until she wakes up first. Then we'll decide what to do. For now, we need to catch some sleep, too."

The three nodded in agreement as Lily took to the couch while Happy and Carla took to the opposite bed. However, the three only remained awake, unable to go to sleep. The rain continued to beat against the window, the weather outside getting worse and worse.
