Chapter 16~ Safe But Not Sound

Start from the beginning

"Vanderwood! Long time no see! Did you miss me~?" I hummed.

"You can still crack a joke in a situation like this? Fine, do what you want." he said. "Where's the information you stole?" he asked.

"It's in the car, all of it is on my phone."

"I have to see the information destroyed first.  And then I will safely return your hostages."

"Just go check inside of the car, I have to check that your hostages are safe."

"Do as you please. Check him right now. We patched them up just like you ordered." I walked over to the two of them. I looked up at Saeyoung.

"(Y/n), You're.... You're okay!" he said his voice shaking.

"I told you I'd be okay, no?"

"Why... Why are you still alive?" I looked over to Saeran. "I wanted both of you dead, instead I didn't kill either!" I turned my attention to Saeran.

"You can plot revenge one I make sure you're okay." I said looking up at him. "Are you hurt?" He didn't answer. I reached to his arm and touched the bandage. He hissed in pain. "Sorry..." I said. I looked back at Saeyoung. "Are you hurt badly?"

"No, not too badly." he said. I smiled.

"Good." I said with a smile. "I'm glad." He gave me a weak smile. "I checked the hostages. I accessed the server with my phone in the car." I went up onto my tippy toes.

"What are you doing?" Vanderwood asked.

"What? Can't give my boyfriend a kiss?" I asked. Saeyoung's breath hitched. "Listen to me." I whispered into his ear. "Try to find as much information as you can from Saeran. You need to knock him out. This won't work unless you do." I looked back at Vanderwood. "Check it and delete it yourself. I'll stay here."

"You're coming with me to the car." Vanderwood ordered.

"Yes, of course."

"What is she up to?" I heard Saeran whisper behind me.

"Let's go." He said as he started to walk to the car. He walked over to the left side and opened up the driver's seat. He bent over and grabbed the phone. He turned it on and started to scroll through the information. I reached into my back pocket and pulled the gun out. I pressed it to his back.

"I didn't want to do this but I need to make sure they will be okay." He whipped around and tried to grab the gun out of my hand. I grabbed his hand and pushed him down so he was lying down in the seat. I was hovering above him with the gun pointed to his temple. I picked the phone up off the ground. "Make any sort of noise and I will kill you." He stared into my eyes. "I'm not kidding either." I said. "I don't know what deal you made with the agency. I'm sure they said they'll put you in the high ranks or promised you a fabulous life once this is taken care of. You do realize, to then, you are just a person who knows too much. They'll get rid of you once this is all over."

"Don't talk as if you know everything." He growled.

"You're a smart person Vanderwood. Think of it this way. You just looked through the information I had just stolen, the information they sent you here to kill me for. They were going to kill me for looking at the information. Do you really think they won't kill you for the same reason?" His eyes widened. "I'll give you a chance to run away right here." I said as I opened the glove box. I pulled out a stack of papers. "These are new identification forms. You're already listed in the national registry. If you accept I will make sure the agency doesn't find you."

"Identification...? ... You hacked into the national registry? Are you insane?"

"Maybe a little." I said, "I know you don't want to stay there. All you have to do is to do as I say. Tell your boss everything is okay, then drive the car over to Saeran and Saeyoung."

"...Damn it." he muttered.

"The car is bulletproof, just say okay." I said as I took the gun away from his head. "Hurry and make your decision." I said as I got off of him.

"Damn... Shit..." He reached to his ear. "...Boss, it's Vanderwood. I encountered a security lock while deleting the data in the car.  Requesting permission to approach the hostages so I can make sure they aren't plotting anything, over." He didn't say anything. "Yes sir. On my way over towards them, over." He sighed a frustrated sigh. "I have no other choice not. It's life or death...!" He turned the car to drive. The engine roared. I shut the door. I followed next to the car as he drove over to Saeran and Saeyoung. I opened the back seat door.

"Quick get in!" I ordered. Saeyoung nodded and hurried over, with his brother in his arms.

"Wait? Why is he unconscious?!"

"It doesn't matter!"

"Betrayal! Begin attack! Attack!" A voice echoed out. I whipped around to see a bunch of guns pointed at me and the car. My eyes widened. I slammed the door shut and ducked down.

"(Y/N)!?" I heard Saeyoung shout. I ran to the other side of the car. Saeyoung reached over and tried to open the car door. He reached out as far as he could, his brother who was lying on top of him, restricting his movement.

"Are you just going to stand there?" Vanderwood shouted.

"Take them and go!" I shouted as more gunshots echoed out.

"Just get in!" He shouted.

"They'll come after you." More gun shots.

"(Y/N)! GET IN THE CAR!" Saeyoung shouted.  "I left you behind before, I'm not leaving you behind again!" I look the gun out of my pocket and cocked it. I held my finger on the trigger and opened the door to the car. I tossed my phone in.

"200 226!" I shouted as I slammed the door shut.

"GO!" I shouted at Vanderwood. He gritted his teeth. He twisted the engine.

"NO!"

"Stay safe." I said as Vanderwood stepped on the peddle. The car sped forward.

"(Y/N)!!!" I heard Saeyoung shout as the car drove away.

"They're safe... That's all that matters." I told myself.

BANG!
