Holding the small jar containing a slip of paper, sneaking out under the starlight alone and away from the watchful eye of Soldier:76 and Winston. The blame from that night hung heavy over the mind of our dear one as memories come with vengeance of the events that is the Fall of Overwatch but still had to complete the mission that has been self assigned themselves.
7 years ago, the man that held this heart and loved wholeheartedly had died along with the only family this broken spirit had left, during the attack on the base in Switzerland. Self-hate was so strong due to realizing that due to unforeseen actions, had unknowingly and unintentionally lead Talon to the base that had caused the loss of the life of the two people that meant the worlds to many but the most this precious soul.
Angela and the others informed them to not hold onto the past but the images from those few hours haunted them for the rest of eternity. The large blood covered rubble, the yelling for help from many of the comrades they had met during training as a new recruit and the sense of guilt that hung heavy like a new fresh fallen dew on the grass. The lives that were lost are those that they could not dare speak of but everyone knew it must be spoken.
The names of Jack Morrison, the protective sibling, and Gabriel Reyes, the forbidden lover, had caused more pain than that of the broken arm and shattered pelvis could ever cause. Yet, the hole only grew each year since that event. This must be done, this wish must be made if any peace could hopefully come tonight. While the others mourned together, this must be done in private for this is a single sin to bear alone.
Taking into a step into the water, tears flow from their hidden place in a broken heart. Gripping the bottle tighter, memories of past arguments, silly debates and long forgotten promises came flooding out along with the tears to join the salty water in the sea.
“Write down a wish on a piece of parchment...then place it in a bottle. If you let it flow, then someday it will grow….and your heart's desire will be real.” is whispered in a broken voice as the bottle containing the slip of paper and a lid is still in their hands. Without thinking twice, they threw the bottle hard into the sea.
“Flow along, glass bottle, and please don't take too long…. Cause what I want the most is in that message. And on the other side of this sunset… Right there, my wish will disappear.” is silently prayed as they look up at the sky. Memories of the farm in the past with Jack to being the first sibling group to survive the Super Soldier project, that's how romance with Gabriel started. Everything was so simple then but before soon, yelling of their name started yet something happened first.
“Flow along, little wish, and please don't take too long, To take away my tears and all my regret… It was too late by then, to fix my sins...When they'd taken you far from me!” is yelled to the sea as Lena yells for Angela to get her medical equipment.
“I'm sorry...God...I'm sorry...I'M SO SORRY GABE AND JACK! IT'S ALL MY FAULT...IT'S ME WHO SHOULD BE DEAD, NOT MY BROTHER AND BELOVED! FORGIVE ME PLEASE!!!” They cry loudly as the group runs to where they all saw the fallen broken hearted victim fall into the sea.
The crying was far from over as the eldest of the group, Ana comes to comfort the broken crying child yet all they did was keep apologizing before falling asleep in her arms when she tried to soothe the fears of the broken mind.
Carrying them into their room to rest, someone watched them behind a bone white mask but not seen by the others. They tended to the sleeping form by drying their eyes, covering their form and sits by them, having heard the whole scene just moments ago. He removed his mask and looked at the slumbering form before him.
“Flow along, glass bottle, and please don't take too long, cause what I want the most is in that message. And on the other side of this sunset. Right there, my wish will disappear…” a voice whispers as a shadowy hand pushes the hair away from the sleeping broken hearted hero before kissing their forehead. “I am forever yours, carino.”
In another room, Soldier 76 was drying off from his shower. He had heard from Ana about what had happened yet was not prepared for her next sentence. “Jack, Don't keep doing this...not to them.”
He sighed as he held the bottle in his hand after getting it from the sea and shook his head. He opened the bottle before thinking of the song that was sung. It was the same one that was sung each time yet, this time was more eager and broken.
“Flow along, little wish, and please don't take too long...To take away my tears and all my regret, If we're ever reborn, I hope in my next life..." Soldier whispers as he opens the piece of paper before crying himself. For written on the paper was these words.
“I wish to be siblings with my brother again and to be by Gabriel Reyes side again, even if it is in the next life.”
