Why me?

Chapter 4: Freak

Raven's POV:

I sat on the edge of the roof, and remembering Doctor Light's face, over and over... His eyes showed nothing but crippling fear, he must think I'm a monster. But it's true, isn't it? I'm the daughter of trigon, I'm an monster...

Suddenly, Robin came up on the rooftop and sat down next to me, I turned away...

"I know what you're thinking, and it's not true." Robin said sympathetically.

"Well then, please tell me what I'm thinking."

"You're thinking about Dr. Lights face, and that you should run away."

"Half correct, I know what you're thinking..."

"Doubt it." He says with that stupid over-confidence of his.

"You're thinking, 'She's a freak.'"

"A freak?! If anyone's a freak that'd be Starfire."

I look over at him, shocked, and he looked as shocked as me.

"Did I say that out loud???" He nervously chuckles.

"How is Starfire a freak?!" I angrily say.

Starfire is my friend, and plus she's perfect, I'm the freak not her!

"Well she is from a different planet..."

"So?!  I am basically the daughter of Satan and was raised on a different planet..." I growled at him.

I hurried away down to my room, he has angered me more than I was before.

Robin's POV:

"Raven wait!!!"

Too late, she's gone, and I'm a goner. What was I thinking?! Starfire nor her are freaks! Sure Starfire can be weird but to her she's completely normal!

"Idiot! Idiot! Idiot!!!" I screamed with anger.

Raven's POV:

  I was honestly shocked, Robin usually helps me and is there for me when the others aren't, but today it's like the opposite...  And while I'm shocked, I'm sad...  He called me a freak, and Starfire a freak. 

I know he didn't mean it though... Right?  He never thought about us being that way, in fact he was the first person I met that didn't care about my past, or my appearance.  Was all of it a lie?

I felt a tear drop fall down my face. 

"I am a freak..."

-knock knock-

"Go away Robin!"

"Uhhhh...  Actually it's Cyborg."

"If Robin sent you, then once again, go away!!!"

"No I just wanted to talk actually about what happened..."

Well maybe he could help me since Robin couldn't, what have I got to lose?  I half-way open the door, but I forgot to wipe my tear from crying. 

"Are you okay?"  He says as his surprisingly warm hand wipes the tear off my face.

"Uhhh yea...  It's just that, do you think I'm a freak?" 

"What?!  Of course not!  Where'd you even get that idea???"

"What about Doctor Light?"

"Well he probably thinks you're scary but, he doesn't know you like us." He says with a smile.

And his smile, made me smile...
