7. Her friends were crowded around her, laughing at something one of them said. Her laugh was loud, bellowing, and changed her whole face. She tucked a lock of wavy dark brown hair behind her hair, perhaps a nervous gesture, and looked back at her book while her friends continued to laugh. All at once, she seemed submerged into her book; her face had gone serious. She bit her lip, turned the page and pushed the book a bit closer to her face as if that would help her transport her to the fantasy of the book. One of her friends jabbed her in the arm and she looked up, long eyelashes blinking and wiry eyebrows raised. If I could, I would take binoculars and study the browns, greens and even the tint of blue of her eyes. From where I stood, they just looked normal brown. She frowned, her lips going tight, and reluctantly closed her book, loosing her spot. Mustering up courage I walked up to her and asked if she would like to read with me in the library. Her face lit up and she nodded her head eagerly. She didn't even know me, but she knew she wanted to be in the library.
