I wake up to distinct screams, taking a deep breath then exhaling, opening my eyes groggly to my surroundings.

While still half asleep, I go over to Ariel's crib, my brain waking up more and more at the cute screams of this crying baby.

Weird, she doesn't really cry this much at night.

I pick her up, positioning her in my arms, my body drowsy so it took me a while to recognise the red.....

The bright red hair.

"What the......" I run my hand through the strands, it gleaming with the vibrant color.

"But how....." Then I stop myself, my eyes widening.

"What is so good about it, anyway?" I scoff, leaning against the wall, flipping a coin repetitively up and down, not amused.

"What is good about it boy, is that its the most powerful power in the world, it can destroy races and rebuild civilizations, but even if I can find this daughter of Poseidon, I can't just take the power from her, she can create barriers to prevent me from taking it, she has to give it up willingly, and the only person who can take the power is her mother, afterwards her hair would turn red, signifying that her power is gone, like a scar" Scaren rants on, darting his vision up and down, observing the pages of the book.

"Wow you really know a lot about this Ultima stuff" I remark, somewhat impressed, somewhat frightened.

"I will not rest until that power is mine, even if I have to kill, every last merman or mermaid...."

I look back to our bed, noticing the empty spot on the matress, my eyes widening more.

Third Person's View

Aphmau swims fast towards the ships, finding a cluster of them, close together.

Good she thought, I could probably get all of them.

Aaron burts open the door to the girls room, seeing all of them huddled together in the corner of the room, sniffling.

Aaron swims over to them, an angered look on his face, though still holding Ariel gently in his arms.

"Where is she?!" He bellows to them, only making them whimper more.

"We promised we wouldn't tell......" Cadenza looks to the rest of them, but Katelyn interrupts her.

"Screw what she said....AARON! Aphmau is going to sacrifice herself to Scaren!" Katelyn spoils, swimming up to him.

A sinking (hehe sinking) feeling fills his heart, overwhelming it like someone was roasting his heart while it was still beating in his body.

"What.......why?!" He exclaims again.

"She is going to let Scaren take her powers, which will cause both of them to explode, because the transition between them is a crime punishable by death.........so the explosion will kill both of them, and everyone on all of the ships under Scaren's control......." Katelyn sobs, her face teary eyed.
