Chapter 8.5~ Assignment

"Ya~, no." I stated, crossing my arms over my chest. "Besides," I added, "I don't drink."

"Then why are you hear?" he asked as he looked me down. I didn't reply, only glared at him. After a few seconds he looked at and raised his eyebrows, as if he made a realization. I furred my eyebrows at his sudden change of expressions.
"I got 100 dollars, how about we take it out back?" My eyes widened. That was it. I pushed him out of the way sending him into a table, knocking it over. A lot of people turned heads to see what the commotion was all about. 

"Disgusting maggot." I said as I walked over to my boss. I took a seat next to him.

"(Y/n), good to see you."

"Make it quick, please." I said as I ran my hand through my hair. "I don't want to stay in here for any longer than I have to."

"Always in a rush." he sighed as he sipped his bear. "Why don't you sit for a while, have a drink."

"Im going to leave in two seconds if you don't tell me what I have to do."

"Fine, fine." He said as he raised his hands in defense. "A man contacted me today asking if I could send him someone who could come up with a plan to get people in and out of a factory without being caught."

"May I ask what factory?"

"It's a chip company."

"Chips?" I asked as I arched my brow. "Really?"

"These chips are becoming quite expensive and rare. I must say they are quite good. Most stores have stopped selling them so where do people go? The black market." I sighed.

"I don't care about that. What do they plan on doing with the information?"

"If I tell you you won't do it." He said.

"And if you don't tell me then I definitely won't be doing it."

"Fine." He sighed, "stealing the chips." He said. I stood up ready to leave. "50,000."  I turned around.

"What?"

"That's how much you would get."

"Ha!" I laughed, "Ya right. Remember last time?" I asked as I recalled the past events.

"I know I didn't keep my end of the bargain but this will be different." He said.

"Oh really?" I asked. "You said that last time, and the time before that and the time before that." This was the man who made a fortune off of me. Thousands of dollars for each job I did, and yet gave me 100 dollars if I was lucky.

"I know but this time I will." I knew he was lying but I needed the money. I sighed and sat down.

"So all I'll have to do is hack into some CCTVs and map out a route?"

"Not exactly." He said, "You will also be their escort."

"Tch, I'm a hacker not a body guard."

"Ya but you can put up one hell of a fight." He said.

"Get someone else to do it." I said as I stood up.

"You're the last person I can go to." he said. "The others all tried to do this but they all got caught." He sighed. "their devices were hacked and tracked down, most of them are in jail." he said. "That's why I'm counting on you."

"Tch, so I'm a last resort?"

"No, far from it." He said, "I didn't want to risk loosing you. That's also why I'm going to be paying you so much if you do this." I sighed.

"Fine." I said, "When's the deadline?"

"You have one day."

"What?" I asked.

"What, nervous?"

"No!" I said as I let out a long sigh. "When's the meet up time and where?"

"Here, at 6, text me when you are finished." He said. I nodded and started to walked away. As I did I heard him say one last thing;

"You've never failed a single mission. Make sure this is no different."

'No pressure there.'

I finished drawing out the last floor for the factory. I had finished the planning everything out and mapping it. I was ready to go to sleep. I looked at the time,

'4 AM? That took longer than I would have liked.' I lied back in my makeshift bed and stared up at the star lit sky. My eyes slowly started to close.

"If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?"

"Somewhere I could see the sky."

"You could see the sky from anywhere."

"I know but, I want to be able to wake up and see nothing but the sky, the clouds, the sun."

"Then that's where we'll go!"

'What the hell?' I asked myself as my eyes shot open. 'Great! Now I'm hearing voices. I really need more sleep.' I told myself.
'But why did that voice sound familiar?' I asked myself. For some reason my heart felt like it had sunk down to my stomach.
'In a dream maybe? But then... Why do I feel like this.'
