I fell in love
I fell in love with him
not with his face
not with his money
and not with his fame
I fell in love with him
with his broken pieces
with his secret sadness
and his will to live for others
I fell in love with him
it wasn't just a teenage desire
it wasn't a cry for desperation
and it wasn't because every one else did
I had loved his soul
I had loved his mind
I had loved his heart
I had loved his flaws
and all of his quirks
He wasn't just anybody
He wasn't just a singer in a band to me
he was a person
with a heart and soul
which many people forget
but I knew better than to think he would ever notice me
but I still clung onto hope
that I would be the special girl
that he caught eyes with
as he gazed over the crowd
the one he'd hold
and never let go
the one he'd give his life to
but that was just a cruel trick
that my mind had played on my heart
and now
deep down
I knew better
but my heart was already gone
forever to be filled
with the misery of
unrequited love
