Lucy

She wasn't happy
with what she saw in the mirror.

Imperfections
And
Flaws

Constantly caught her attention
As her eyes graced the surface.

Her hair was dull lacking luster,
Lying plainly and flat against her face.

Her hands rose to put it in place,
When her wrists caught her attention

Those poor, poor, wrists
Beautiful in their own way,
With an unsettling story to tell.

Scarred and damaged,
Many times stained red with blood.

She scrutinized her body.
What she saw was failure.

Those thighs were too chubby,
No gap in between.
Soft and fleshy,
this did not please her

In her eyes
Her stomach protruded too much
As she couldn't see her ribs.

But she was fixing that.
Starving herself to reach the desired goal

Her face,
aged by sorrow and time.
Worn.
Plain.

Letting us know
that it doesn't take long
For someone to gain a hatred towards themselves.

An unpleasant grimace on her face
as she took in her whole appearance..

Sighing sadly,
wishing she could change everything about her.

At the meek age of 15,

She wasn't happy with what she saw in the mirror.

But then again,
Who was.
