Little Girl

Little girl
far too young

for bitter words
to be hurled at her
from an evil tounge

a father too drunk
to realize

that he couldn't hide the pain
that lived
in his eyes

little girl
who lost her youth

was made
to grew up too fast,
that's the sad truth

little girl
once so bright

now cries herself
to sleep
at night

little girl
power through

don't make
your father's past
come true for you

he had turned
to drinks and pills

but you
are so much more
than cheap thrills

little girl
be proud of what you can do

and in the end
your light will once again
shine through
