Chapter 5.5~ Deal

Start from the beginning

"When's your birthday?"

"(Y/B)."

"They have you a listed for potential schizophrenia." She took the clipboard off of the bed railing and started to read it.
"It says imaginary friend, social isolation, aggression, passive aggressive, self-harm, loss of interest or pleasure in activities when presented with games, elevated mood, or inappropriate emotional response."

"Lies." I said as I moved my gaze over to her. "Nothing's wrong with me!" I looked at her pleading for some sort of empathy.
"I'm not aggressive, I'm not passive aggressive, and I DON'T have an imaginary friend!"
As soon as those words escaped my mouth my mind flashed back to Saeran. His pale face, his golden eyes, his scarlet red hair and his rare but heartwarming smile. The smile that could light up the world.
I felt myself start to tear up at my memories of us together.
"His name is Saeran!" I shouted as a rogue tear slipped down my cheek. "He lives with his mom and he lived with his brother before he left. They are identical twins. He's 14, and his birthday was last month." I more and more tears fell from my eyes.
"I need to see him!"

"Why?" She asked.

"I need to make sure he's not mad, I need to make sure he knows that I didn't break my promise, I need to make sure he's okay!"

"Why wouldnt he be okay? He lives with his mother, no?"

"His immune system is not very strong. He gets sick easily and his mom abuses him." I said trying everything I could to get her to feel bad for me, and, to get me out of here.
"His brother left him to go god know where and his one wish is to ask him why he left. I need to let him know I didn't leave him on purpose. I need to let him know I would never break my promise."

"What did you promise?"

"I promised that I would never leave him. I promised him that I would always be with him. I promised that I would help him to escape and we would go find his brother." I said as the tears kept coming.
"I don't want to cause him anymore pain. I can't! I need to let him know what happened and explain." She looked at me like I was a lost soul.
"Please. I need to get out of here. It's bad enough I've been gone for a month, the time I'm in here in not useless, I can't waste my time here when I could be with him." I sniffled and took a deep breath. "I need him as much as he needs me."
She sighed and grabbed a tissue from the tissue box. She grabbed onto my chin and lifted it up so that I was not facing her. I averted my gave down to the ground instead of staring straight at her. She lifted the tissue to my eyes and carefully blotted my tears away.

When she was done I finally looked at her. I stared into her crystal blue eyes and begged for her to let me go.

"You really are telling the truth." She said. I looked at her.

'Did she really believe me?'

"I am normally stationed in the psychiatric ward but they sent me over here to see if I could talk to you. It seems like you're not lying."

"How come you're the only one who believes me?" I asked as I whipped my eyes.

"I can tell when someone's lying. It's obvious to me. It's like my sixth scene." She said looking down at me.
"You have given me too many details on this person so there is no way it is just a hallucination. You also seem to have formed an emotional bond to him. Most schizophrenics find them more of a nuance than anything." She sighed. "I'll see if I can convince the doctor to let you out sooner."

"Thank you!" I said, my face beaming with happiness. " Thank you so much." I said smiling. She smiled back at me.

"anytime." She said. "Take a nap in the meantime, you look like you need one." I nodded and watched as she left the room.

Once she did I wondered, had I made the right choice and would she keep her promise.

"See, not that hard." I said looking at my friend. "Here." I said as I reached down and handed him my phone.
He didn't take it. "Are you going to take it?" I asked. "My arm's getting tired." He reached to grab the phone but instead of taking the phone he grabbed my wrist.
"Ahh!" I hissed as I was pulled forward, dropping the phone. "What the hell was that for?" I asked.

"What's this?" He asked as he pointed to the multiple circular burns on my arm. My face flushed red. I didnt respond. "Are you hurting yourself?!" he asked glaring at  me.

"What?! NO!"

"Then explain this!"

"I burned myself." I said. "I was cooking noodles and dropped the noodles in too high. The water splattered onto my hand." I said. He looked at me.

"Really?" He asked. I nodded.

"I'm very clumsy." I said trying to get him off my case.

"Why is your face red?" he asked.

"Well you're kinda holding my arm captive right now." I said.

"Why are you not making eye contact?"

"Because you are holding my arm right now and it's awkward."

"Why are you lying?"

"I'm not!"

"Why'd you get so-

"Can I have my hand back?" I asked cutting him off. There was dead silence.

"Why are you avoiding my questions?" Saeran asked breaking the silence.

"Agggghhhh!" I groaned. "I want my hand back~" I demanded. He sighed and let go.

"You promise you didn't self-harm." He said.

"I promise."

"Good because I would be sad if you did."

"I would never think about doing something like that."

"Good." he said. "I would hate if you did that instead of talking to me." he looked directly into my eyes. " If something happens tell me." I looked at him. "Okay?" he asked.

"Okay." I said smiling. "Anyway, where were we?"
