The moonlight was shining through the windshield radiating Colby in a blue light. It was intriguing to see him like this, alone content, quiet. Or perhaps it was odd that I've been watching him for so long. I decided to go join him.

"Hey Colby." I said quietly wile climbing into the passenger side.
Colby turned towards me and greeted me with a warm smile.
"Hey sam. I thought you were asleep." He somewhat asked.
"Nope I've just been sitting back there... um admiring the view." I said subtly
"Ya.. there's nothing like it, it really is amazing." Colby said with glazed eyes fixed on the sky's.
"Yes.. it is." I said admiring him.
I snapped out of it quick.
What am I doing??
I keep finding myself like this!
What is it about Colby lately?
Why do I always want to be near him?
"Hey you ok?" Colby asked softly
"Um ya, ya I'm fine.. just thinking ya know?" I said quickly recovering.
"What are you thinking about?" Colby asked concerned
I looked at him. As if I was trying to find the answer myself.
"You." I said without thinking.
Colby turned his head and fixated his eyes onto mine.
"I mean us. Ya know um how far we've come and stuff." I corrected myself quickly.
Colby smiled and looked up at the stars.
"Ya... Remember back in Kansas when we'd go out to that old warehouse near the train tracks and just sit on the roof.. look at the stars?" He asked.
"So many memories." I said scanning over him.
Colby turned his head towards the road again
"And now we're here, Living the life, going on road trips." He laughed.
"I'm so grateful for that" I said grabbing his shoulder in re assurance.
He glanced over and smiled.
It was a small smile but it was real,
And it was content.
