His laughter echoed the small dark room.
His nails dug deeper into my flesh.
I tried not to show any emotion but the way he thrust into me drove me crazy, but it wasn't just the sex I liked. I liked his bloody smile, his laugh, the way he moaned my name, the way he pulled my hair, the way he slapped me when I was behaving bad, and the way he tasted like blood. People feared him but what I saw was perfection.

"Y/n. Y/n!"

My eyes fluttered open, it was morning. I saw Laughing Jack sitting on my bed with a worried look on his face.

"What?-"

"You were having another dream" he explained

My cheeks turned red.
"How did you know?"

"Well, you were moving around a lot and you were also screaming."

It had been one year after the incident. I was convinced that I had dreamt everything. There was no evidence of the infamous killer. No proof that he ever existed.
I was obsessed over a character that I had created in my head.
I saw it as a sign.
A sign to change.

"Get ready we're rehearsing in 5" LJ said before leaving my tent.

I pushed my covers off and stumbled out of bed. I looked in the mirror.
My cheeks were cut opened, just like his. I would cut them open every day just to look like him. At first it hurt but now it felt completely normal. My dreams were a signs, a sign to change, a sign to become the person I've always wanted to be.
I grabbed my knife and I put it in my hoodie.
I wasn't planing to kill or harm anyone, but the knife gave me confidence. Confidence I never knew I had.
I walked outside my tent as I watched everyone getting ready for rehearsal.

Nothing much had changed, I still wasn't part of the show but I had to clean up after.
As I walked into the main tent I saw LJ practicing with the other clowns.

"Hey Jack can I go into town?" I asked

He gave me an annoyed look. He hasn't let me go anywhere unless it's with him.

"No, I'm busy"

"Can I go by myself?" I asked

LJ pinched the bridge of his nose.
"You ask me this almost every day and every day I give you the same answer."

"Fine" I said in a rancorous tone.
I went to go sit down as I watched everyone rehearse their acts.
An hour later I saw a woman and a boy walk into the tent.

"Sorry but the show is tomorrow" I said

The woman and the boy looked shocked once they saw me.

"Are you okay?" I asked

After observing me the woman let out a sigh of relief.
"Sorry but when I first saw you I thought you were Jeff the killer" she explained

"What!?"

"Yeah. Your smile-"

I cut her off
"Jeff? Jeff the killer?"

She nodded her head yes.

"Do you know where he is?!"

She laughed
"No one does. The police are still looking for him"

Did that mean that everything was true? Or was this another dream?
I dug my nails into my arm, just to see if I could feel the pain, and surely enough I did.
This whole time I have been living a lie.
Jack lied to me, everyone did. I just didn't know why.

I sneaked out of the main tent making sure that nobody saw me. I went into my tent and grabbed my back pack.
I also covered up the scars on my cheeks with make up.
When I was done I left the freak show.
I was coming back but I first needed to find information.
What if he wasn't the Jeff the killer I knew?

When I got to town I went to the library and I got a computer.
We didn't really have technology at the freak show, there was no point. There was no one to call or text.

I searched up Jeff the killer.
I was shocked he was exactly the way I imagined him.
Everything I had experienced wasn't a dream, it was real.
I couldn't understand why he left me.
I suddenly felt weird, everyone in the library was staring at me.
I quickly got up and left.

I couldn't go back to the freak show, LJ would kill me.
I needed to find Jeff, but finding a killer isn't easy.
Not even the damn police could find him.
For all I know, he could be miles away.

I walked back home feeling disappointed, when suddenly I heard a woman yell.
I ran towards the sound and I found a man in a black hoodie stabbing a lady.

"What the hell do you think you're doing?" I asked

The murderer turned around.
He was the man in the blue mask!

The man began to laugh.
"What are you going to do? Attack me?" he laughed

I quickly tackled him to the ground, taking his knife away.
"Where is Jeff?" I growled

He chuckled
"How should I know?"

I put the knife to his neck.
"I have a feeling that you do know"

"Nope. I haven't seen him since the day he attacked me."

"Are you sure?" I growled

"I'm sure. How the hell did you lose him?" He chuckled

"That's none of your damn business" I spat

I got off him and walked away. I guess I have to go back to the freak show.
LJ was going to murder me.
As I entered the freak show something felt different. I looked around trying to figure out what was going on.
Suddenly I saw LJ talking to someone in a white hoodie behind the main tent.

Jeff?

I got closer to try and get a better view, and sure enough there he was. The bloody white hoodie, the raven hair, and the bloody smile on his face. It was him.
My beautiful nightmare.
