Chapter 2~ Vanderwood

"Yes, it is done." I huffed, spinning my chair around. I rested my arm on the armrest and laying my head in the palm of my hand.

"Both assignments?"

"Yup." I said , spinning my chair back around. I reached over and grabbed my mouse so I could prove to Vanderwood that my work was indeed completed. and

He sauntered over and studied the work that was on the screen. He looked like he could tell something was off but luckily he didn't say anything of it.

He then walked over to Luciel's computer. He stood by it and looked at me, tapping his foot.

"What?" I asked.

"It would be nice if you could show me Luciel's work... Where is he anyway?" he asked lookin around the room. I shrugged as I stood up. I walked over to Vanderwood and the monitor.

I turned on the computer and signed in as Luciel. I opened up his work file and watched as Vanderwood started to scroll through it. As he reached the bottom of the page my heart sunk with guilt.

"Why is it not finished?" He asked as he looked down at me.

My eyes widened, "I don't know..." I said.

"So he's past the due date again..." he said as he sighed. "I can't believe this."

"I'll do the work right now. " I said.

"How? You have an hour to reprogram the whole algorithm for the boss, do you really think you can do that in..." Vanderwood reaches into his back pocket and pulled out his phone, "... 40 minutes?" he asked.

"Well..." I said as I sat down in Luciel's orange and black chair. I rolled my way over to the desk. "we won't know until I try." I said as I started typing away. I heard Vanderwood groan in annoyance before walking away to go do something.

As I typed my brain wandered. Why would he finish my work instead of finishing his own. It made no sense.

Why would he lave without doing his work, where was he even? I asked myself.
It wasn't like Luciel to leave without telling me, none the less he didn't finish his work. It wasn't uncommon for him not to do his work on time but it was uncommon for him to leave without telling me where he was going.

What if something bad happened? What if it was the hacker? Why did he leave? When will he be back? I asked myself as I typed.

As time passed my brain asked more and more questions. I started to worry. I could feel my palms begin to sweat out of nervousness.

Where is he? Where is he? WHERE IS HE?!...

??? P.O.V.

"Ensure the special security system information was reset last night... Check." I said as I scrolled through the documents.
"Change all the algorithms so that he can't trace the hacking back to me... Check" I leaned back in my chair staring at my large computer screen. I smiled in satisfaction.
"Now even if I infiltrate, the sacurity system won't go off, so everything is a-okay." I sighed and sat back up.
"The CCTV is still in the hallway... I'll have to send a rope down from the roof and go in through the window. It'll be noisy but that seems to be the only way for now, plus, no one's there, lucky for me." I started smiling ear to ear.
"The savior will not agree with my plan... I'll have to do this on my own. The original plan was to implant that girl in the RFA to steal all the information while everyone's caught up in the party... But that didn't work very well, stubborn brat. Nothing will be more certain than me going there myself to get the information. It's sooner than I planned but I'll make sure he pays the price for tracking me. Hahahahahaha! This is exciting, just wait RFA, you all will be the first to be invited to Magenta. Of course... Luciel is not invited, nor is your stupid assistant... What is her name? (2/n)? I will make sure to delete both of them from this world." I stood up and cracked my knuckles. I pulled up my mouth guard.
"Then, shall I get moving? Haha... Hahaha...!"

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

"Did you hear something?" I asked Vanderwood who was sitting on the red couch with his phone.

"No." He stated, not taking his eyes away from his phone.

"Did you laugh?" I asked as I spun around in Luciel's chair.

"Haha, happy?" he asked.

"No, that's ... That's not what it sounded like."

"Of course not." Vanderwood spat, "Do you think I have the time to laugh right now? I'm trying to locate wherever the hell 707 went."

"Have you found anything?"

"If I did why would I tell you?" He growled. I shrugged, biting the inner left side of my cheek. "Get back to work." I sighed and spun the chair back around.

"I defiantly heard something though." I murdered.

"If you tell me that you're hearing things and start making a fuss, I'll taser you."

"...Okay then..." I sighed, "Oh, by the way, Vanderwood?"

"I said, shut it."

"No you didn't." I said as I started typing. He sighed in frustration before a semi loud, bang noise echoed through the room. I peered over my shoulder, curious as to what the sound was, only to see Vanderwood slouched over, and his head resting on the coffee table.
I let out a soft chuckle, "Could you make me some coffee if there is no more in the pot?"

"That?" He asked, raising his head up and pointing to the coffee machine. I nodded. "Wait." He ordered as he stood up and walked over to the machine.

I jumped from the sudden noise, and quickly turned around.
"what? It broke... The handle just broke off. I just cleaned up the mess that was down here, now I have to do it all over again. Damn it!" I was about to get up to clean it when Vanderwood opened his mouth.
"Hay, don't mind this and just work. I'll get you new coffee."

"It's okay, I don't need it." I said as I sighed. Vanderwood walked over to me to examine my work.

"You look dead. You're not worried about getting jinxed because the cup broke or anything like that, right?"

"Do you think I'm that gullible?"

"Maybe."

"Shut up." I said as I kept typing.
