Secret Life of a Shadow

Disembark from your ship, my shadow,
When I switch off the lights,
When the shadow is still as a polyp,
Take a break from this polka

Spruce up this silly lad, shadow
And carry on the secret shady life
Stand up to those to whom I cowered,
Cross those lines I was too shy to cross

Whinge for those opportunities given up,
Binge for those values left behind,
Cringe for those cringe worthy moments
And appoint a smith to carve this stone

Lend a hand to grab those missed,
Let the bumpy road be of satin,
Is this the secret Life of shadow
Or a life longed to live, secretly, shadowly...
