A week passed since Verena was hurt, and the battle was won. Everyone seemed to slip back into the flow of life. Even Verena seemed to be gathering herself. Or was at least putting up a show of it. Roxy, Verena and myself found ourselves most days walking the garden and sticking to each other. If Roxy and I weren't with Argyll or Brodden. I watched from my perch as Verena and Roxy spoke. We had only a few days left here. Plans were already being made for Roxy and I to come back. As much as I we wanted Verena wasn't coming back willingly. She had decided to stay in the states. Go to college there, I couldn't blame her. For her this place held sad memories. She said she would visit I knew it would be few and far between when she did. As did Roxy who all but called her out on it when visiting was brought up. Verena laughed her off and changed the subject. Which caused Roxy to push more resulting in A huge fight between the two. A breeze in the garden kicked up and brought with it the scent of my grandmother's herbs she used for cooking. I had always loved this place and was more then ready to start a life with Brodden here. It gave me a sense of peace. Which I needed since the time we stepped out Roxy and Verena have been at each other. "Roxy I already told you I would visit. Isn't that enough?" Roxy threw her hands up in the air. Exasperation clear in her voice as she spoke. " No, No it isn't Verena. The three of us grew up together went through rough, happy, awkward and very weird adventures together. You can't just shut yourself away from us! " Roxy all but shouted the last bit. Her anger clearing spiking and Verena was beginning to shut down and pull away. I shoved my hair out of face with a sigh. "Are we really going to argue when we leave in a couple hours?" Verena stood and with out a word walked away. Leaving me with a fuming Roxy that I was slowly becoming irritated with. "Your pushing her away Roxy..." Roxy turned on me and once seeing the look on my face, hers fell. " If you keep pushing her she won't come back ever. Which means we won't ever see her. Phone calls and face time is all we will get. I don't know about you but I want Verena around." Roxy paced back and forth warring with herself. Looking up over the garden I spotted Brodden waiting for me on the edge of it. The sun shining off his red hair. Making it seem redder then it actually was. I stood to go to him giving Roxy one last say, about the situation. Her crest fallen look had all my before irritation slipping away. Making me realize Roxy was taking Verena pulling away a lot harder then I originally thought. "Roxy she needs us to stay by her side. Not to stand in front of her telling her how to feel." I walked away leaving her to think, and to be by herself. Once I reached Brodden I let out a sigh and gave him a sad smile . He pulled me into his arms and I soaked in his warmth. Letting it wash over me and give some strength. "Are you packed and ready to leave?" Brodden voice rumbled against my ear. I nodded rubbing my head into his shoulder . Making him laugh softly. "It won't be for long you'll be back." I couldn't help but laugh a little. The man waited hundreds of years for me. Here I was having trouble waiting for a few days a month tops. I just didn't feel comfortable with leaving him here. Heather laughed at both Roxy and I when we told her how we felt. He response was that our bond to our mates was stronger. We would get used to the foreboding feeling. With Everything moving and being set into motion for Roxy and I. I just couldn't help but feel like we were leaving Verena behind. Or she pulling further away from us with each passing day. Brodden leaned down and kissed me. Effectively drawing my attention away from my thoughts. I smiled up at him and couldn't help but feel right standing next to him. I had no intentions of letting him go anytime soon. I was looking forward to our future here. A place that that will forever be my home. We walked to the waiting cars and each of us climbing into one. I climbed into Brodden's and couldn't help the laugh that bubbled up. It was still weird for me to see my Highland Wolf driving and doing twenty first century things. Driving, talking on phones owning his own business sent me for a loop also. It was still so surreal to me. The drive was long and filled with silence but neither of us minded. Brodden grabbed my bag from the trunk and clasped my hand in his. We all gathered just outside the gate we were to go through. Each of us giving Carrick and Catriona a hug bye but a promise to be back soon. Heather and Kendrix decided to adopt them as their own. Catriona still had a long way to get used to her new world. Nan and my grandfather pulled me into them squeezing me until I couldn't breath. Finally Broden gently pulled me to him. He pushed some stray hairs back behind my ear as he smiled down at me. "Lets go Mo Stòr we have a flight to catch." I couldn't help the grin that spread over my face. "Your coming with me?" Broden laughed as he gripped my hand in his. " I have been away from you for over six hundred years. I am not leaving your side. " I squeezed his hand and stood on tip toe to give him a kiss. "Lets go then." We walked away hand in hand. I knew then that this was only our beginning .
