Surround me we're the cold-metal bars, in a cylinder outline. The wind hitting hard on my skin, the only sound in the dead silence. The silence is haunting, it brings my heart to a fast beat.

"Hello?" I half-whisper, half-yelled.

As scared as I am, I feel calm. A conflict among anxiety and calmness. My heart thundered, pounding in my chest. My breath quickened, as I tried to slow it down.

Then, I panicked.

My hands plunged at the metal bars, hands gripped tight. I want to pull apart the perfect lined bars, I want freedom, and most importantly, I want to know the truth. I want to know why I am here, trapped within bars in haunting silence.

I looked for any supplies that may help my escape. My eyes fell on a fancy candle with intricate designs printed on the metal. It was outside the cage, but still reachable.

I reached towards the candle, hoping the fire may melt the bars. Before I my fingers touched the metal, it moved.

"Why hello?" The candle stated with a big grin. I jumped in return, surprised.

"I suppose using my fire to melt the bars isn't the wisest thing to do." He paused.

Then continued, "For two very reasonable reasons. One, my little light is not strong enough. Two, if you do succeed, you will be wasting an awful amount of time."

Tick

The sound of ticks added noice to the silence. Just when I was about to ask about the ticks, the question was answered.

"I totally, one-hundred percent agree with you." The clock added in.

I couldn't believe my eyes, a talking clock and candle.

"I'm Lumière" he introduced. Following, he took a bow, extending his hand to me.

I stared at the candle he extended, as his hand. Realizing that I was suppose to shake it.

"Oh sorry." I mumbled, still shy and scared.

Quickly, I extended my hand for a shake.

"And, I'm Cogsworth." The wooden clock added.

I didn't say anything in return. How can these anatomic objects move, along with the ability to speak?

I still did not believe this to be real.

"I see that you're shocked." Lumière broke the silence.

I didn't realize that I was gaping at both of them. I closed my mouth, and looked away. I don't know what to say, I couldn't bring words out.

"What is your name darling?" The clock inquired.

Why are they being so nice to me?

I didn't answer their question.

Seemingly to know that I didn't bother to talk either of them, they turned their backs, leaving.

"Wait" I called, my voice echoed.

"Yes?" Cogsworth asked.

"Where am I and why am I here?" I pleaded for their answers.

"Well." Lumière said. They were exchanging glances, undecided if they should explain.

"It's a long story." Cogsworth mumbled, ending our conversation.

Silence fell between us.

"I can listen." I nagged, trying to bring back the conversation.

"I'm sorry, but we can't" Lumière said on behalf of Cogsworth.

"Why?" I pleaded. Tears were reaching my eyes, I am on the verge of breaking.

"There are many things that we can't do, simply because of the consequences." Lumière whispered.

And with that, they left me in the darkness and silence, alone.
