“Whoa, dude, have you been stalking us?”
TWENTY (Part II)
“Oh, nope. I’m actually on a fieldtrip,” Key replied in a rather friendly – if not suspicious – tone. Hinila niya ‘yung upuan sa tabi ko, umupo siya dito, moving very slick, at nagsimula na siyang mag gobble-gobble ng kanyang meal.
Uhm, is it just me, or is the air really getting thicker in here?
“What a strange friend you have,” Gray told me bago mag-focus ulit ‘yung tingin niya kay Keith Kato. “Pare, do you mind sitting elsewhere? You’re kind of not invited here.”
“That’s funny, man. I like your sense of humor.” Key’s lips formed a smug smirk nang gamitin ni Graham ang exact same words niya laban sa kanya. Well, mukhang hindi naman ikinabahala ni Keith Kato ito, in fact, patuloy lang siya sa pag-enjoy ng pagkain niya, he even wiped off the corner of his mouth with his finger. Ah, teka nga, bakit ko pala siya pinagmamasdan? Holy crap.
I am totally watching him. At nahuli pa niya akong nakatitig sa kanya. Holy crap.
“Though a little originality won’t kill you,” pagpapatuloy ni Key, his voice still sounding sugary. “I’m flattered, but your neurons are slowly dying.”
“Thanks sa concern bro, I didn’t know you cared.” Gray returned the favor by flashing Key a super bright smile. Alam ko na dapat na akong magsilbing referee sa dalawang ito to ease the tension they’ve been building together kaso… pffft. This scenario is just too funny, daig pa nila mga babae kung magbangayan eh.
The situation slipped off a little nang abutin ni Graham (while seated, using his leg) ‘yung paa ng upuan sa unoccupied table katabi ng sa’min. Hinila niya ito papalayo ng mesa at saka niya tinignan si Key, as if commanding the guy to move away. Oof.
“Bye bye now!” Winagayway pa niya ‘yung kamay niya sa direction ni Key, bastos lang.
Kaagad kong sinulyapan si Keith Kato para humanap ng hindi magandang senyales, too see if Gray has successfully gotten under his skin, but to my relief, hindi nawala ‘yung aroganteng ngisi sa mukha ng lalaki.
Kaya naman laking gulat ko na lang nang sipain ni Key ‘yung upuan pabalik sa table, where it was brought back to its original position. Geezus!
Hindi naman ganun kalakas at kabayolente ‘yung pag-eeksena ni Keith Kato but it was good enough to cause a commotion and to draw unwanted attention. Shocks, pwede na ba akong maglaho ngayon din? This is mortifying.
Okay, binabawi ko na. Hindi na pala ako natutuwa.
“Oh, no. You didn’t,” pa-iling na sabi ni Graham. Nagpapabalik-balik ‘yung tingin niya kay Key at sa kawawang upuan.
“Yeah bro, I just did. Oh… I’m sorry,” sarkastikong sagot ni Key. The tone of his voice is overflowing with mockery, it makes me want to cringe. “Did you want to copy my moves too? Uulitin ko ba para sa’yo?”
