May's Converse tapped nervously against the tile as she bit her lip and played with her rings. She looked so cute today. Her blonde hair was curled in big barrels and a pink headband held the stray pieces away from her face. She had moved into maternal clothes. Her white, long sleeve V-neck curved around her bump and her black pregnancy leggings were tight against her legs.

I grabbed her hand and she jumped. "Baby, calm down." I laughed and she puffed out her cheeks.

"I'm just nervous!" She admitted with a sigh.

I looked around the crowed doctors office, all the children running around. "I know. But, we're finding out what kinda baby we made!"

She giggled. "'Kind of baby we made'?"

"Judge me." I licked her cheek and she gasped, wiping it off.

"Gross." She pretended to gag.

"That tongue has been other places May-"

Her cheeks fumed red as she slapped my arm. "Bradley William Simpson!" She huffed as I laughed.

"You love me."

"Occasionally." She shrugged.

"Excuse me, miss?" A little boy stood in front of May. He looked about four and wore a stripped color shirt and khaki shorts with light up Toy Story sneakers. His black hair was shaved and his big blue eyes gleamed behind him orange, plastic circle glasses. He was adorable.

"Me?" May furrowed her eyebrows.

"Yes. Why is your belly big?" He asked shyly and clasped his hands behind his back, inspecting May's bump.

"Well, kind sir, I have a baby in there."

He gasped. "What?! How'd he get in there?!"

"Told ya he's a boy" I mumbled smugly.

"Shut up." May groaned.

I decided to answer him. I leaned my elbows on my knees and stared intently at the little boy. "Well, there's a little leprechaun named Steven who comes to moms and dads when they send him a request letter for a baby, with all the reasons they want one. Steven's trusty friend Jenny reads over the letters with him and they decide who gets a baby. Jenny then writes letters back to the parents who ask about them with the time to come get their baby put in. She and I went to see Steven and he put something on my hand" I held up my left hand, pointing to my palm "it glowed and Steven told me to touch her belly. I did that and I had to say the words "Abracadabra Baby In!" And poof, she starts growing the baby!" I explained and his jaw dropped in aw.

"Woah! Can I write a letter to Steve?"

"When your older, yeah! Steve's very busy." I told him and May squeezed my shoulder with a smile.

"Wow, tell Steve Jacob said hi. My momma just called for me. Thank you!" He skipped away and I laughed.

"You're amazing." May sighed and I put my hand over her stomach.

"Steve's the real hero here."

I held tightly onto May's hand while the ultrasound jelly was put on her stomach in the dark room.

"Wow, its warm." May commented.

"We heat it up now." The doctor who would be delivering the baby, Doctor Erin Wills, smiled before grabbing the instrument used to see.

I stared at the screen and I felt my eyes tear up as I saw our baby.

"What's the gender?" May asked.

"One second..." she mumbled before turning back to us. "You're having a girl."

"Yes!" May cheered and I kissed her head.

"Congratulations." The doctor smiled. "She looks healthy and happy. Keep up the good work."

Once she left, I turned to look at May. "We're having a daughter." I whispered.

Her eyes tears up and she reached out to touch my face. "And I couldn't be happier."
