Natural light dappled across the cold white tile in the bathroom floor, turned golden from the sun's aura. No one else was home and Lena could only hear her own heavy breath echoing from the confined walls. She finally stood up after an hour of sitting, her body cool from the marble floor. She gently placed the object on the counter next to the sink, pushing a stray piece of brunette hair behind her ear and nervously rubbing the necklace resting on her pale collarbone. The symbol on the object burned into her emerald eyes, from which a tear fell shortly after. She smiled, took a deep breath.

"I did it," she whispered to herself.

The front door lock clicked open, the large wooden door creaking as it swung on its hinges. The brunette snapped her head towards the noise. Her shoulders relaxed, releasing weeks of tension.

She heard a whooshing sound and within seconds, her favorite person appeared in front of her, curiosity in the blue eyes hidden behind her glasses.

"Kara," the emerald-eyed woman breathed, embracing her.

Kara hugged her wife, breathing in the scent of jasmine from her soft knitted sweater. She continued to wrap her arms around Kara's waist as she looked into her innocent green eyes.

"What did you do, Lena?" she asked.

Lena's lips once again turned into a bright smile. She let go of Kara, stepping back ever so slightly so she could hold the test in front of her. Kara gingerly held it in her hands as if it were a foreign object. Lena wrung her hands nervously, waiting for her wife to react to the result.

Kara's furrowed brows relaxed, and the corners of her glimmering eyes crinkled as a smile grew on her face. Lena had never seen her smile so big. Before she could respond, Kara had already picked her up, twirling her in the air as she floated above the ground. She quickly flew out the open window of their apartment, shooting up into the brisk spring evening. Lena clutched onto Kara's midsection, squeezing her eyes. They hovered above the roof of the complex, Kara still spinning the two of them in the air.

To Lena's relief, Kara set them both down gently. She pulled away, placing her strong hands on Lena's face. The biggest smile was still on the blonde's face, and Lena couldn't help but match the same toothy grin. The two were laughing, and neither of them could stop smiling.

"So you finally did it? We're finally gonna have a baby?" Kara pestered, breathing heavily.

Lena nodded, also in disbelief. "We did it, angel."

Kara hugged her tightly, lifting her up and causing a small scream to escape her mouth.

"Oh, Lena, I'm sorry princess. I forgot how strong I was for a second," Kara apologized.

Lena grabbed the blonde's face, kissing her softly on the lips. They stared into each others eyes for a while, giddy smiles plastered on their faces. Kara broke the gaze, kneeling down so that her face was by Lena's abdomen. She glanced up with her adoring puppy eyes.

"Is it a girl? Like we wanted?" she murmured.

Lena let out a small laugh, stroking Kara's shining golden hair. "I don't know, love, only you could tell."

Kara looked down, her cheeks heating up a gentle pink in embarrassment. She shook her head at herself, then lifted her glasses off, squinting at Lena's stomach. She raised a single brow, standing back up.
