Third Person POV

A month had passed by and Milo was starting to shy away from Amelia. He was fighting with his demons about her. He didn't want to completely lose her but he wanted her to realize he wasn't good enough on her own.

On the other hand, Amelia was realizing how much she missed the attention. She missed how secretly clingy he was for a while. She was starting to think he found someone better. She tried to give subtle hints but he pretended to be oblivious.

It was killing him on the inside not to give in. He felt that what he was doing was right. Logan talked to him one day, telling him he knew about his pills- it got in his head. He became paranoid, he didn't want his secret to get out, especially to Amelia.

Today was Valentine's Day, the worst day for singles, the best day for couples. Amelia took it upon herself and bought Milo a small teddy bear.

She walked up to him at his locker with her head held high. The bear in her hands behind her back.

"Hi Milo." She smiles.

"Hi."

"Since it's Valentine's Day, I got you a gift." She holds the bear in front of her.

Milo was about to accept the bear but he saw Logan behind her, leaning against a wall watching his next move.

"I don't want it." He shakes his head.

"What?" Her smile fell, confidence shattered all at once.

"You heard me, I don't want the dumb bear! Did you think I was going to be your boyfriend or something? If I did- don't you think I would have asked you already?" He continues convincingly.

"Wh- why are you acting like this?" Her voice cracks. Her eyes get blurry with tears. It broke his heart and everyone else's that has to witness the scene.

"You don't belong in my world." He rasps. His fingers dig into his palms.

"Fine." She wiped the falling tears and quickly walked away from him.

"You should have listened to me." Logan fakes a sympathetic look.

"Shut up." She snaps and continues her walk to the bathroom.

Lunch rolled around and her friends comforted her and calmed her down. She still had the small bear in her hand.

"Here he comes." Braden says in a hostile tone.

"Can I have a minute with Amelia?" He asks.

The group looks at Amelia who gives a small nod.

"You have a lot of explaining to do later." Oli states deeply.

"I know."

The group leaves slowly allowing them to be alone.

"I'm so sorry about what I said." He reaches for her hand but she hastily pulls away.

"Why did you say it then?"

"I can't-"

"Bullshit, you must have meant it."

"I didn't, Logan was watching-" He starts.

"Logan? What does Logan have to do with this?" Her puffy eyes shift to his.

"It's not important but I do care about you, more than you might think." He pleads.

"How can I know what's the truth and what's a lie?"

"You just have to trust me." He pulls an apple juice from his pocket and slides it toward her. She smiles a little at the fact that he remembered her favorite drink.

"Come over tonight, I'll explain everything." He takes the bear from her and sheepishly holds it to his chest. He started to go pink in the face in embarrassment but it made her happy and that's all he cared about right now.

"Okay, don't make me regret this." She sighs.

"Oh and one more thing, I want to officially ask you to be my girlfriend."

"I'll give you an answer tonight."
