Harry woke up to a loud rap on his door.

"Come in." The door opened and he sat up, Draco stood there, eyebrow cocked.

"There are dark circles under your eyes. Did you sleep enough?"

"Yeah, it was just a late night." He rolled out of bed and changed into nice robes. Harry turned, the blonde was blushing.

"You shouldn't undress in front of people like that." The blonde mumbled,

"Sorry." Harry summoned a trunk and tried to find more clothes, but they weren't there. "Damn it." A pair of strong arms wrapped around his waist.

"I already packed your bags."

"Oh, thank you." Harry pecked him on the cheek, Tom handed him a mug of coffee and some clothes. The younger wizard grinned, "Mm. This is why I love you." Tom pouted,

"You love me because I bring you things? That's it?" Harry snorted,

"Of course not. I love your personality, beautiful eyes, oh, also you're a great kisser." Draco groaned and walked out of the room,

"Merlin, don't get all sappy around me."

"Sorry." Harry chugged his coffee and dressed quickly. Tom shrunk their luggage and got the portkey,

"Ready, dear?" Leo ran to them,

"Wait. I wanted to say goodbye to both of you." He sounded breathless, Harry smiled.

"Ok. Stay out of trouble and protect Moony for me... I mean your father." Leo nodded and hugged him, then dipped his head in the direction of the dark lord. He ran off.

"Why don't I get hugs from my followers?" Harry laughed at the thought of death eaters hugging their lord.

"You're scary at times, but I will always hug you. Now, let's get going to that secret destination." Tom said the word that activated the portkey. Harry clung onto Tom's arm to keep his balance. He looked around in awe. There were
people all over the street, most talking happily. Flowers made the warm air smell sweet.

"Welcome to Paris, my love." The dark lord said, Harry turned towards him.

"It's so beautiful."

"I know. I rented a small cottage for our trip, it is going to last for eight days."

"Where are we going first?"

"To the cottage. It's not far from here, we can walk." The wizards walked to a small house. Tom opened the door and stepped in. Harry followed him inside. They unpacked the bags and both sat down on the bed. "What would you like to do now? We can walk around or go shopping."

"Mm, just a walk."

"Alright. Paris is a beautiful place, let's go while the sun is still up." The couple went outside and strolled down the street. They entered the wizard part of the place. Something caught Harry's eye, a dog getting cornered by three males, all pointing their wands at it.

"Tom... I'm going to check out that shop, I'll be back in ten minutes." He turned and walked to the males, who were now laughing. Harry frowned, the dog had black shaggy hair and  gray eyes filled with fear.

"The mutt bit me yesterday! Let's have some fun." The 'leader' sneered and cast a hex at the dog. It whimpered in pain,

"Excuse me, but I couldn't help but see what you are doing." Harry said from behind him, a spell was cast at him, but blocked by a shield.

"Get out of here, kid. I don't want t hurt you." The other wizards were much taller, but looked to be in their teenage years. Harry rolled his eyes, he brushed past the boys and cast a healing charm on the canine. He stroked its head and lured it away from the group. After this, he smirked at the younger wizards and waved goodbye. Tom was waiting for him,

"Why is a dog following you?" Harry smiled sheepishly,

"Those kids over there tried to hurt him. Can we please keep him? He's so cute." He pleaded, Tom sighed.

"Fine, you're taking care of him though, he needs a name." The younger wizard grinned,

"Maverick. His name is Maverick."

"You come up with the strangest names, love." Maverick was now nuzzling Harry's leg,

"Can we go buy stuff for him?"

"I guess. A pet store is over there." The emerald eyed male kissed Tom's cheek and walked to the pet store with Maverick. He went inside and found dog food, a bed for him, and a collar with a tracking charm. Harry paid for the items and found Tom again,

"Let's go to the cottage." The couple walked back to their vacation home. The collar was placed on Maverick. Harry fed the dog and gave him water.

"Harry, this is sudden, but I have to go back to the manor for a day." Harry pouted,

"Oh, stay safe. I'll be careful, Maverick will take care of me." Tom nodded and kissed Harry, them portkeyed. The boy led Maverick to the bedroom and laid down the dog's new bed, lying down in his own. Maverick cocked his head, then jumped onto the bed. Harry laughed,

"No need for a bed, eh? Maybe I'll make Tom sleep in it when I'm upset." He giggled at the thought and started to stroke his new pet. The sky soon grew dark. Maverick was lying his head on Harry's stomach. They were both asleep.

Harry woke to a weight on his chest, the weight was whining. He opened his eyes and saw Maverick,

"Good morning, Mave." He mumbled and got up. The dog followed him into the kitchen. Harry gave him food and made his own. A loud knock startled him, he stood up, wand out. Maverick sat behind him as he opened the door. A middle aged man stood there, smiling kindly.

"Hello, my name is Pierre Leroy. I wanted to welcome you to the neighborhood." Harry rose his eyebrow.

"It's great to meet you, Mr. Leroy, but I'm just visiting." The man frowned,

"A pity. You never told me who you are."

"Harry, just Harry." He replied coolly, Pierre sighed.

"I never expected you to be so shy, Mr. Harry James Potter." The boy's eyes narrowed.

"Alright. If you don't mind leaving me alone-" he tried to shut the door, Leroy stuck his foot in.

"Ow. You're not shy, you're just rude." Maverick growled,

"You stuck your foot in my door, it's not my fault. Now please leave me alone, I appreciate privacy." The man walked away and Harry shut the door, "Damn stalkers." He mumbled, then went back to eating. A few hours later, Tom came back.

"Hello, I do hope no one bothered you." Harry kissed him,

"It wasn't horrible, just this one guy named Pierre Leroy. Maverick scared him away." Tom hummed,

"That dog is good for something." Harry rolled his eyes.
