It's the next morning, as I'm at home, wearing a gray tank top and my flannel, sitting on my bed with my laptop in front of me, looking up Quileute Legends on Google, and click on Book Results for them, and see a blue book with an Indian on it, and click the Thunderbird and Whale Books hyperlink, as it's for Port Angeles and click on the Map, and grab a pencil and a green sticky note with my right hand, and write down the address. I stand up, and walk over to my bag, and sling it over my shoulders, and head to school. It's Sunny outside, as I'm sitting down at a table next to Henry, wearing my contacts and sunglasses, as he's sun tanning on top of it, and I'm looking around for Edward, as I have a bag mini bag of pretzels in front of me. "He's not here." Henry says, as I look at him. "Whenever the weather's nice, the Cullens disappear." He says. "What, so they just ditch?" I ask. "No, Dr. And Mrs. Cullen yank them out for, like, hiking and camping and stuff." He says, as I'm looking down. "I tried that out on my parents. Not even close." He says, as I grab a Pretzel with my right hand, and take a bite of it. "Guys, I'm going to the Prom with Emma." Antonio says, as we look at him. "I just asked her. No perfect moment." He says, laughing, and looks at me, and hugs me, his arms around my back, as I give him a side hug. "I told you that would happen." I say, and we release. "Are you sure you have to go out of town? You don't even like the heat." He says. "Yep, it's a little family thing." I say, and look down, and finish my Pretzel. "Ok, we should go shopping in Port Angeles before all the good suits and ties get cleaned out." Henry says, as I look at him, and the bell rings, and he stands up. "Port Angeles? Mind if I come?" I ask. "Yeah, I need your opinion." Antonio says, as I look at him smiling, and I turn around, and stand up. We're at Tailors, as Henry and Antonio are trying on suits and ties, as I'm by the window. "I like this one." Henry says. "That's awesome." Antonio says. "But, I don't know about the whole purple Polka Dots thing." Henry says. "I like this one." Antonio says. "The solid color is awesome. Silver goes great. Ok, I like this one. Golden for me is perfect." Henry says, as I look at them in suits and ties, and I look back to the window, and see a group of biker teenagers walking towards the store. "Shit. What are we going to do?" Antonio asks. "We'll be fine. I promise." I say, and stand up, and notice a blonde haired guy with sunglasses and a leather jacket approach us, and I step in front of Antonio and Henry. "What you guys doing here? You don't look like no Port folk." He says. "We're not." I say, as two of his friends cross his arms, and so do I. "Name's Connor. You all have a nice day." He says, offering his right hand, and I shake it with my right, and we release. "Come on. Let's go." He says, turning around to his friends, and they walk out, and I turn around, looking at Henry and Antonio. "Ok. That was badass. How in the hell did you do that?" Henry asks. "I think I saw it in a movie once." I say, and we all laugh. "So, what do you think?" Antonio asks. "They look great." I say. "You said that about the last seven ties, though." Henry says, and I give a small laugh. "I thought they were all pretty good." I say, and look down, and back to them. "You're not really into this, are you?" Antonio asks. "I, um. Actually just really want to go to this bookstore. Uh.. I'll meet you guys at the restaurant?" I ask, walking over to my bag, and pick it up with my right hand, and sling it over my shoulders. "Are you sure?" Henry asks. "Yeah. I'll see you guys in a minute." I say, and walk off. I'm at the Bookstore, and the man hands me the blue book that I was looking for with his right hand, as I hand him a twenty dollar bill with my right hand, and we take our items at the same time. "There you go." He says, and I turn around, walking over to the door, opening it with my right hand. "You have a good night." He says. "Thank you." I say, and close it behind me, and stop, looking around. I take my bag off, and open it, putting the book inside, and zip it up with my right hand, and button up my flannel. I'm walking down an alley way, and see the group of bikers from earlier at the shop, as they stop and look at me. I turn around, and walk the direction I came, and look back to see them following me, and I arrive to a empty lot. "Saw you at the Tailors." Connor says, clearly drunk. "Where you running off too?" One of his friends asks, as I look at them, and turn back around, and see more of his friends approaching me. "What's up?" Another one asks. "It's my boy." Connor says, and I try to walk past the guys, and they block me. "Woah, woah. Where you going? You're the one who wanted to cross your arms." Connor says. "I was protecting my friends. I saw it in a movie." I say, and they surround me. "You should join us. Have some fun." One of them says, pushing me. "He doesn't like that, dude. Maybe something else." Another one says, shoving me. "Don't touch me." I say, and one of them grabs my right arm. "Don't touch me." I say, and punch one of them in the nose with my left hand, and he falls to the ground, afrer letting me go, and I hear a car spinning, and look to see it's a shiny Volvo. Edward's. His car approaches us, and we move out of the way, and I gasp, and see him get out. "Get in the car." He says. "Edward, there's too many of them." I say. "Just get in the car. Please." He says, and I sigh, and walk over to the passenger side door, and open it with my right hand, and get in, closing it, and see him step in front of them, and they look frightened, and they step back. He walks back to the car and opens his door, and gets in, shutting it with his left hand, and I look at him, and he drives forward just to scare them off. He goes in reverse, and the car spins quickly, and he drives onto the main road, fast, getting in front of a car, as it honks at us. "I should go back there and rip those guys' throats out." He says, and I look forward. "No, you shouldn't." I say. "You don't know the vile, repulsive things they were thinking of doing to you." He says, and I look at him. "And you do?" I ask. "It's not hard to guess." He says, and I look forward. "Can you talk about something else?" He asks, as I look at him. "Distract me so I won't turn around." He says. "You should put your seatbelt on." I say, and he laughs. "You should put your damn seatbelt on." He says, and swerves to the left, getting in front of a car, and drives faster. We soon arrive to the restaurant, and I see Antonio and Henry walking out of it. "Hey, guys, I'm sorry. I just." I say, and Antonio interrupts me. "Where were you? We left you messages." He says. "Yeah, we waited, but we were, like, starving, so we.." Henry says, and I hear footsteps approach me, and I look to my left at Edward. "Uh, I'm sorry I kept Cor from Dinner. We just sort of random into each other and got talking." He says, smiling at them, and I look back to them, as they shake their heads. "No, we totally understand. I mean, that happens, right? Two people, talking?" Henry asks. "Mhm." Antonio says. "We were just leaving." Henry says, and I look down. "Cor. If you wanna.." Henry says, as I look at Edward, as he's in front of me. "I think I should make sure Cor gets something to eat. If you'd like." He says, and I nod. "I'll drive you home myself." He says. "That's so thoughtful." Antonio says, as I look at him, and back to Edward. "It's really thoughtful." Henry says. "Yeah. I should um. Eat something." I say. "Yep." Antonio says, and I look at them, walking over to Edward. "Ok, so we'll see you tomorrow." Henry says. "See you later." Antonio says. "All right." I say, and Edward and I look at each other, and head up the stairs to the restaurant. We're sitting down inside the restaurant, as I have coffee, and my flannel is unbuttoned, and our Waiter approaches us with a bowl. "All right. One Grilled Chicken Ceasar Salad." He says, and sets it down in front of me. "Thanks." I say. "Mhm. No problem." He says, and walks off, and I look down at my bowl, and grab a fork with my right hand, looking at him. "You're really not gonna eat?" I ask, and look back down at my food, and take a small bite, covering my mouth with my left hand while chewing, and swallow, and set my fork down. "No, I'm on a special diet." He says, and I look up at him. "You gotta give me some answers." I say. "Hm. Yes, no. Over, under. To get to the other side. Eubacteria and Archeabacteria are the two tax-." He says, and I interrupt him. "I don't want to know what two taxonomic domains divided based on the presence, or absence, of peptidoglycan." I say, shaking my head, and he smiles at me. "You knew that? Of course you did." He says. "Yes. And I don't want to be Valedictorian. How did you know where I was?" I ask. "I didn't." He says, shaking his head. "All right." He says, and I begin to stand up. "Wait, what?" He asks, and I look at him. "Don't leave. I. Please?" He asks, and sighs, looking to his left away from me, and I sit back down. "Did you follow me? If you did, I won't be mad. Thank you." I say, and he looks forward and down. "I.." He says, and looks up at me. "I feel very protective of you." He says, and I look down, and back to him. "So you did follow me." I say. "I was trying to keep a distance unless you needed my help, and then I heard what those low life bastards were thinking." He says. "Wait. You say you heard what they were thinking?" I ask, and he looks down, sighing awkwardly, and I shake my head. "So what, you.. you read minds? A Mind Reader." I say, as he looks at me. "I can read every mind in this room. Apart from yours. There's money, sex." He says, and I look at the different people who's minds he's reading. "Money, sex. Cat." He says, as we look at the guy at the cash register, and he smiles at us, and I look back to him. "And then you, nothing. It's very frustrating." He says. "Is there something wrong with me?" I ask, and he chuckles lightly. "See, I tell you I can read minds, and you think there's something wrong with you." He says. "I'm an open minded person. Thanks for, um. Dinner." I say, and look down, and back up to him. "You're welcome." He says, and exhales. "What is it?" I ask, as he looks down, and looks back up to me. "I don't have the strength.. to stay away from you anymore." He says, and I shake my head. "Then don't." I say, and touch the left side of his face, gently, with my right hand, as he looks down, as his skin is ice cold, and I put my hand down, and look down. "I'm sorry. You're skin is ice cold." I say. "It's all right. I know. Says the guy who underdresses." He says. "I think I learned my lesson at La Push. I thought tonight would be somewhat warm. We're driving to my house as the heater is on, as I'm looking down him, and I look at the heater, and back to him. "Ok. I think I'm warm enough now." I say, and look at the heater, reaching for it with my left hand, and so does he with his right, and our fingertips touch each other, and his are still ice cold, and I gasp, looking at him, as we put our hands down, and he looks at me, and forward. "Your hand is still ice cold. I mean, it was a little warm in there but we came from the cold. And now the heaters on." I say, and see him tighten his grip on the steering wheel, and I look forward, and down. We soon arrive back to Forks, and I see a bunch of Police cars at the station with their lights on. "Woah. What is going on?" I ask, and notice Charlie's car in the driveway. "My Dad's still here. Can you pull in, please?" I ask, and he swerves to the right, into the parking lot, next to my Dad's car. "That's my Father's car on the end. What is he doing here?" He asks, as we unbuckle our seat belts, and get out of the car, after grabbing my bag with my left hand, and see Carlisle walking out of the station, and Edward approaches him. "Carlisle, what's going on?" Edward asks, and Carlisle sighs, as I walk over to them. "Waylon Forge was found in a boat out near his place. I just examined his body." Carlisle says. "He died?" I ask, and he nods. "How?" I ask. "Animal attack." He says, and looks at Edward, and so do I, and back to him. "Was it the same one that got that security guard down in Mason?" I ask. "Most likely." He says. "Well, it's getting closer to town, then." I say. "Cor, you should go inside. Waylon was your Father's friend." He says. "Ok." I say, and head to the steps, and walk up them, and look back at Edward. "Um.. I'll see you later." I say, and the wind knocks my bag out of my hand, and the blue book opens to a page with a mask on it, as it has all canine teeth, and I walk back down the stairs, and Edward picks it up for me with his right, and closes it, handing it back. "Thanks. Stupid wind." I say, and put it back in my bag, and zip it up, and sling it over my left shoulder, and walk back up the stairs. I walk into the station and see Damian, my cousin's ex boyfriend from high school, and wave at him with my right hand. "Hi, Damian." I say. "Sup, Corn. Charlie's in the back. And welcome back to Forks." He says. "All right, and thanks." I say, and walk to the back to Dad's office, and see him sitting at his desk. "Hi." I say. "Hey." He says, and I sigh, looking down, and back up to him. "Dad, I'm really sorry." I say, and he looks at me, and back to his computer. "I've known him going on thirty two years." He says, and I put my right hand on his left shoulder, and he touches my hand, holding it with his left hand, and puts his hand down. "Don't worry, we're gonna find this thing." He says, and reaches to his drawer on the right side with his right hand. "Meantime, I want you to carry this with you." He says, offering me a can of pepper spray. "I don't if." I say, and he interrupts me. "It'll give your old man some piece of mind." He says. "All right." I say, and take it with my left hand. "Let's go home." He says, and stands up, as I step back, and we walk to the front door, and I push it open with my right hand, and walk down the steps, and they're delivering Waylon's body into the truck, and I remember Edward's black eyes and him not eating and the tight grip of his on the steering wheel and the body, and snap back into reality, and look at Dad, and turn back around. I'm at home, and take my flannel and tank top off, and sit on my bed, crossing my legs, and open up the blue book. I'm looking through the pages for the mask that opened at the Station, and see it again, and look underneath, and see the caption, mask depicting the "COLD ONE". "Cold One." I say, and set the book down, closing it, and search for it on my computer. I see a link that has a picture of a creature eating children with the caption, The Cold One: Apotamkin. I click on it, and see a better picture of it. I scroll down, and see a bunch of different countries, and see the main title, Demons of the Night. I click on Egypt, and the caption says, Egyptians: The Immortal Drink. I click on India, and see a picture of a terrifying creature known as a Ganges. I click on Peru, and see the title is, The Demon's Dismemberment, and see a lecture of four people tearing apart someone over a fire. I click on England, and see a picture of a man cutting into another man's abdomen with a knife, as the man is bleeding. I look to my right, and see the word, undead I then see the word, speed, and remember Edward appearing next to me out of nowhere. I see the word, strength, and remember him pushing the van away with his hand, and gasp, and see the word, cold skinned, and remember me touching his face at the restaurant and our fingertips touching in the car. I see the word, immortal, and then the words, drank blood, and shut my laptop, running my right hand through my hair, and shake my head. "Oh, my God. He's a.. oh, my God." I say.
