I can't count how many times I've seen the word your instead of you're in stories across Wattpad. I don't know about you, but when I see it, it throws off my train of thought on some occasions. My brain has to adjust to reading it incorrectly and sometimes I have to reread the sentence to figure out what the writer means.

1. You're=You are: The pronoun you and the verb are.

Example: You're (You are) coming to the party, right?

BTW, it's YOU'RE WELCOME...not your welcome.

2. Your is a possessive pronoun which means someone will OWN something.

Example: Your dog is brown.

That is your dog.

3. When toddlers discover possession, they say MINE.

Never write MINES when showing possession. Only use MINES IF you're drawing reference to where miners work.

Example: The bracelets are mine not yours.
