Mia's POV

Nov. 9th

Today marks the day I divorced my ex-husband. Thankfully it's been 4 months since then and I've made some changes in my life. Some setbacks, but I'm taking it one day at a time. Or at least that's what Lydia keeps telling me. Thinking about how I couldn't stop crying in the lonely parking lot made me flip through another channel and shove another cookie in my mouth.

Seeing Nolan's face splash across the screen I couldn't turn the channel, he was promoting his business with a busty blonde beside him. Reciting her lines like a pro, something I use to do when he started making construction ads. I was his muse, and to feel the sudden "replacement" feeling made me get from the sofa and move into the dining room where my sewing machine was. I was working on a sweater that's taken about 3 and half months to make. I was going to give it to Lydia when I was done.

She was happy I found a hobby, and it took my mind off Nolan. Getting lost in the rhythm of the needing stabbing the fabric, I'm reminded of how I'm free of Nolan "Thomas" Grey my ex-husband. That lying no good cheating son of bitch made my life miserable. I mean I known that man since fucking Kindergarten and he goes and throws away our 8 years of marriage.

I'm so damn glad we didn't have children together. I'm glad he wasn't a fan of children and I wasn't in a rush back then either. He was cheating on me for 6 months with my own sister.

We haven't talked since. I still blame her past dealing with drugs though, I blame myself more because I should've known the signs. She was given plenty of chances to blame Nolan, like for her relapse, his controlling ways, and bossy attitude.

But she was convinced she was in love with Nolan. Even left her rich basketball husband when my divorce papers were done. And mutual friends Nolan and I had didn't think of telling me, so they are all dead to me as well.

And that's not even the worst of it, the divorce wiped me out so now I'm basically homeless. I lost my house, car, and all the money to my name to support this divorce and expensive lawyers. And recently found out that I'm fired from the insurance company I worked at. Not looking I pricked my finger pretty badly, and I move quickly to clean and wrap it in a Band-Aid.

Tired of sewing I just lay back on the sofa and star at the custom designed fan Lydia got from France. It spins with no sound, and the air it creates it soft against my skin. It barely touches my face.

My phone rang on the side table above my head, reaching over I grasps it. Not even bothering to look at the number, Caller ID, or to see if it's even a phone call I just put my ear to the phone. "Hello?"

Knowing exactly who would call me because it was the only contact number I had along with my Mom and Dad, and Wade my older brother. Her voice was too cheerful, that's exactly what I needed right now to pull me from my depression. "Hey girl, I don't have a lot of time because these idiots who call themselves doctors are going to kill this man. What would the medical world do without me?" She cackled before getting back on topic, wait was she actually calling me while operating? To this day I still don't understand why she hasn't been arrested or sued.
