Special Chapter 1 - Car Rides

Depuis le début

"Fine." He heard the petite boys footsteps as he ran towards the back gate.

Taehyung opened his back gate, and Jungkook almost immediately walked in, excited, with rocks in his hand for some reason. The car was vintage and teal.

"Umm.. I hope you're not planning to fix my car with rocks?" Taehyung was suddenly regretting letting the younger in.

"No silly! These are for the Geography project." Taehyung shrugged, clearly unaware that they had such a project.

"You don't mind failing?" Jungkook asked, surprised that people could be so nonchalant. Taehyung shrugged again.

The brunet mentally noted that he had to do another separate project, to help out his friend. He certainly wasn't gonna let his friend fail when he could have done something about it.

He kept his rocks on the ground, before walking to the car hood, which was conveniently propped up using a jackscrew.  At least Taehyung could do that much.

The younger started fiddling with the various parts of the car engine, at times mumbling things he had learnt in Physics to himself, as he concentrated.

"Trust me, It's not so easy. I probably have to call a mechanic or something." Taehyung said, as he walked over to the younger.

"Try starting the car" Jungkook said, confidently. Taehyung scoffed.

Nevertheless, he walked to the driver's side of the car, opened the door and got in before turning the key which was in the keyhole. The engine roared to life.

In seconds, the brunet was right beside him, in the passenger seat.

"You owe me a ride."
-----

Taehyung missed driving his car.

As the wind blew in his face, he couldn't help but feel rejuvenated. The feel of his hands on the steering wheel, the way the car jerked every time he shifted gears; the feeling was almost forgotten. But not anymore.

As he got on the highway, he smiled to himself, forgetting about all his troubles. Just letting go, and living in the moment for once.

Jungkook looked up at the elder in awe. His side profile was godly. The way he smiled made his heart flutter- something he didn't expect to happen.

He didn't care about making good impressions, he didn't care about making people like him. He didn't care about all the pointless things Jungkook cared about to the point of paranoia.

As the sun set, and twilight began, Taehyung parked the car in the spot he had been to hundreds of times before, ever since he was a kid.

From the car, the two could see the beautiful blue ocean, stretching far into the unknown. Birds flew in V formations, and clouds littered the sky, forming various shapes.

The sky darkened, to a deep navy blue, and stars came out of hiding.

"Its..beautiful" Jungkook said.

Taehyung nodded, his eyes not leaving the ocean, the moonlight illuminating his features.

Jungkook couldn't help but steal a glance at the elder; something he had started doing quite often recently.

The whole setting was paradisiacal.

Taehyung looked too good to be true.

Maybe Jungkook was naïve. Maybe he didn't properly understand the fact that he just looked up to the elder. Maybe he was jumping to conclusions.

But when he looked at Taehyung, he immediately thought of the roses he had seen earlier that evening.

He loved roses.
