Chapter Fifty-Six: The Deathly Hallows (Part Two)

It was just a matter of time before everyone's life would change permanently. Before I knew it, the battle had begun. I heard complete chaos from down the hall, and it took every ounce of my sanity not to race to help everyone. My duty was here, at this exact spot. If I left, who knows how many more people would die. I could see lights flashing and flying colors everywhere, a brutal blend of reds and greens. That's when my mind started to wander... Was he fighting for Harry, or was he fighting for Voldemort? Was Draco even alive?

"Watch out!" I heard someone call, disrupting my thoughts. I turned to my left and noticed a jet of green light rushing towards me. I ducked as quickly as I could, the spell whizzing over my head, and fired a curse back in the same direction.

Racing down the hall, my head was hammering; I felt as if I was to pass out! My heart caught in my throat when I saw a young girl, who couldn't be more than a first year, laying on the cold ground, not breathing. I took a brief second to grieve her loss before resuming my hunt, my hunt for Draco. I know I said I shouldn't be thinking about him, but I had to talk to him. I just had to. I let out a cry and leaned up against a barrier behind a very large fence, hoping to stay unseen.

I heard several screams of terror and cries coming from children, and I forced myself to hold my breath. I sprang out from behind the rail, clutching my wand as tightly as I could, and fired spells in the direction of the enemy, hoping I wouldn't hit my peers.

I breathed a sigh of relief; I had hit two deatheaters. The Battle continued for what seemed like ages. Constant shouting, colored lights flashed in every region.

The memory flashed through my mind as I saw the same body sprint past.

I saw Fred and George fighting a Death Eater out of the corner of my eye. Then I heard a roaring noise and saw the pillar fall.

"Fred!" I heard George shout.

"Fred, no!" my eyes widened, and I sprinted over to the debris, and my brother beneath it.

"Fred, no," I started rapidly throwing the pieces of broken rock off of him as tears flew down my face. George helped me up, tears falling as well, and tried dragging me from the scene, but I wouldn't let him. I screamed, trying to get back to Fred, but it was no use. Tears rushed down my face and my legs fell limp. I looked up and saw the deatheater sprinting away from the scene. I stood up, tripping over a few rocks, but ran after him, anger surging through my body.

"Hey!" I called, but the man just kept running. I threw a charm at his back and it sped past him, catching his hair. He spun around and I froze in fear.

"Draco?" I cried in shock, and that's when the tears became worse.

"Madeline, I-"

"You killed my brother, how could you?" I screamed, raising my wand towards him. He tried stepping towards me again, but I shot a spell at him.

"Don't come near me!" I jeered, walking angrily towards him.

"George is going to have to live without his twin, and it's all your fault!" Tears spun down my pink cheeks, as I shot another spell at him, almost hitting his ear. He took out his wand in defense and dodged more of my spells.

"Madeline, stop!" I threw another spell, but he blocked it.

"Expelliarmus!" he tossed my wand out of my hands, and we locked eyes before I sprinted towards it. Just before I had reached it, he had pushed me down onto the hard surface and pinned me down.

"Madeline, don't." Tears swelled in my eyes, and I looked away from him.

"You- I did- Madeline-"

"Get off me, you coward!" I tried pushing him off, but he was stronger than me.

"Get off her, Malfoy!" a wand pointed towards us from about 30 feet away, but Draco and I remained in the same place.

"I said get off!" Draco stood up slowly, reaching for his wand out of Harry's sight, and I tried speaking.

"Draco, no!" Harry shot a spell at him and Draco ducked. I rolled myself over out of the range of the spell.  Numerous lights flashed past my head and I stood up. Right as I looked up, I saw Harry's wand fall out of his hand and Draco raise his.  My eyes widened as the spell shot out of the wooden wand.

"No!" his lips moved and a green light shot out of his wand. I pushed in front of Harry, my breath catching in my throat. One tear escaping my eye as the green burst hit me right in the chest.

All these characters belong to J.K. Rowling. All credit goes to her for some of the plot and all of setting (characters, etc.) I made Maddie Weasley, that is it. I am just a girl who wants to write fanfictions.
