Chapter Twenty-Four: The Goblet Of Fire

Something just doesn't feel right about this. Harry never even went near to the goblet of fire. Anyone in their right mind never would have. Ron would not take his eyes off Harry, not to mention the eyes weren't exactly very cheerful. I looked up from my book at Ron folding his laundry.

"Ron, would you stop that? You must think about how Harry feels." he scoffed at me.

"Madeline," he put his hands up in defeat. Harry was watching our every move. "he did it to himself! You'd think he'd have more common sense!"

"Ron, I didn't do it!" Harry stood up a little more eager.

"Yeah," he turned away from him. "and why should I believe you?" My eyes widened.

"Knock it off. You guys are Gryffindors, not Slytherins!" No offense to Slytherins but I think they got my point. I don't think they even uttered another wo-

"How did you do it? Nevermind." Ron slipped onto the couch.

"I don't know what happened tonight but it just did! I don't want eternal glory, I just want-" he paused.

"You're being stupid."

"Yeah, that's what I am. Harry Potter's stupid friend." I sure hope they make up. I looked over at Hermione and sighed.

"They'll make up." she whispered to me.

"I sure hope so." I groaned.

"Piss off." Ron muttered. I chucked a stuff teddy bear at Ron, hitting him in the face.

Today the champions were being interviewed. There were so many papers and news reporters here, that I could barely walk through the hall. I tried to get to D.A.D.A but some reporters were blocking the way.

"Excuse me." I said, quietly. Nobody heard me so I said it again. Great.

I pushed through the crowd but accidentally tripped on someone's foot.

"Are you okay, Maddie?" Harry helped me up as the reporter's face widened.

"Aw, young love. How- dazzling." I growled at her.

"Back off, you bug." I grabbed my books and walked to D.A.D.A.

I haven't even known her for 1 minute and she is already on my hit list.

"Late again, Ms. Weasley." Moody swatted the desk next to Malfoy.

"Sorry Professor, I got c-caught up in traffic."

"Very well, take a seat." I let out a breath of relief and sat my bag down next to Malfoy.

"Lucky he didn't fancy a detention today." he snickered.

"I'm not really in the mood, Draco." I muttered under my breath.

"Did you meet Rita Skeeter?" he asked.

"Who?" I unbuttoned my bookbag and pulled out the book.

"Short, bleached hair. Glasses," he smiled. "annoying."

"Oh yeah, definitely her." I hated her bloody bones. I saw a note being passed around and I looked at Hermione confused. Neville passed it back to me and I looked at him with utter confusion. He gestured me to the letter.
