Business Per Usual

{part 10}

I sit behind my desk reviewing some paperwork when Jared comes in.
"You busy kitten?"
"Of course not, I'm never too busy for you." I say sarcastically. It's been a week since I slept with his brother and it didn't stop the dreams about Jared, if anything its made them worse. "So honey what can I do for you?"
"Oh princess you're being oddly nice to me."
"What do you want?"
"There's my princess, so nasty." He sneers.
"Jay, don't you have a girlfriend to entertain?"
"A girlfriend?"
"Come on, Shannon told me." He looks at me for a second.
"Oh." He says quietly. "Anyway what difference does it make you have a boyfriend."
"Mm try again." I say slipping my glasses back onto my face.
"You're not dating anymore?"
"No, but what difference does it make." I snap again.
"I didn't know." He says.
"Why did you need to know?"
"I-! I don't." He says quietly again.
"So why are you here?"
"Just curious if you had anything new."
"I have one, but I don't think you'll be interested in it." I hand him the script, letting him flip through it. He spends the day with me reading through the script trying to decide if he wants to take it before sighing and tossing it back on my desk.
"Pass."
"That's what I thought you'd say."
"So what are you doing this week?"
"Why what do you need me to do?"
"I wanted to know if you wanted to come climbing with me?" I stare at him for a second.
"Are you bringing your girlfriend?"
"God no." He huffs.
"When?"
"Tomorrow to Saturday."
"All week?"
"Yeah."
"Sure." I sigh. "Might as well, right?"
"Great." He says grinning at me. He gets up leaving me alone again and the rest of the night goes smoothly. The next morning at sunrise Jared shows up at my door.
"You're up early." I chuckle letting him and Alex in.
"Have to be, got a long drive ahead of us."
"Yay." I say sarcastically making Jay chuckle.
"Come on kitten lets get this show on the road."
"A long drive? Aren't we going to Malibu Creek State Park?"
"Nope."
"No?"
"We're going to Bryce Canyon in Utah."
"Oh my god. That's a ten hour drive."
"Exactly." Jared grins. That's such a long drive and now I'm gonna have to sleep with Jared in the same area as me. I really didn't think this through. Now my sex dreams are gonna be worse than before.
