Chapter 13

"I'm taking you out tonight, you better be ready by 7:00"- Brian says

"Ok, but at least tell me where"

"It's a surprise"

Today is my 16th birthday

And about a month ago was Brian's

"Fine, just tell me, casual or not?"

"You can wear jeans if you want"

It was 5:00 already

"Shit"- I whispered to myself

I only have two hours to get ready; certainly not enough

I take a quick shower and grab a pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt

I start doing my hair

I finish with a french braid

"Are you ready?"- Brian texts me

I didn't realize it was 6:50

He was wearing the same plain white t-shirt as me

"Nice shirt"- I say laughing

"Oh. My. God. Why did you steal my shirt?"- Brian said and then hugged me - "you look better than me"

"I know, but you still look handsome"- I say and give him a sweet kiss -"so, where are we going?"

"Still a surprise"

We arrive at a party

I don't know whose party, but it's definitely a nice house

"Welcome friends"- someone says behind my back

It was Max's house

"Max?"- I say

"Emma! I'm glad you could join us!"- Max said embracing me - "I heard you and my best friend here are more than friends"

We both immediately turn red

"Yeah, he finally got the guts to ask me"- I say laughing

"Well, you are welcome here, please come in"- it's an enormous house

"Where's Anna?"- I ask Max

"I don't know"

"Hi guys!"- Anna says from behind

"Anna!"- I say

"Hello Emma"- she said giving me a hug

"Anna you look beautiful"- Max says

"Thanks Max"- Anna says turning red

"What about Jaxon?"- I whispered in Anna's ear

"Turns out he is gay" - Anna said embarrassed- "no need to mention him again"

"Well, we'll leave you two"- I say grabbing Brian's arm

I turn my head to see Max and Anna kissing

My best friend's first kiss, I think

He better not break her heart or I will break his face

We were walking and I suddenly bump into Regina

Regina is this 'bad girl', bully who only cares about herself and her looks

She's wearing a crop top, a mini skirt and high heels

"I'm sor.."- I begin saying but as soon as I realize it's her I stop

"Oh, look, it's the nerd, with the hot boyfriend"

"Yes, my hot boyfriend, so back off"- I say emphasizing the word MY

"Don't worry, I'm not that bad, but I could be for you handsome" - she says looking at Brian

I want to punch her so hard but I resist

"Let's go Brian"- I grab his arm and start walking

"Why didn't you do anything back there"- I ask him

"I didn't know what to say"- Brian says calmly

"Great"

"Are you mad?"

"Yes Brian, my own boyfriend doesn't care if some girl is flirting with him and his girlfriend stands up to her to defend him"

"I'm sorry Emma, I'm not very good with this"

"It's okay"- of course I was mad at him! Did he expect me to let it go?

We were sitting down when suddenly I see Regina approaching us again, she grabs Brian and kisses him passionately, to my surprise Brian doesn't back away

My only reaction is to run away, so I do

I run outside to the garden and sit down on a bench

I suddenly start crying, and I can't stop

I'm sad, but I'm also angry, I can't believe that I was so stupid

I suddenly feel someone's hand on my shoulder

"Go away!"- I don't even bother to look

"Who's responsible?"- I hear Anna's voice

"Anna?"

"Emma what happened?"

"I don't want to talk about it"

"Ok, but as soon as you tell me I'm going to go kick their asses for hurting my best friend"

I just laugh

"I can't tell you who it was Anna"

"Why not?"

"Because it's complicated, and I don't want you to break anyone's face and get into trouble"

"That trouble would be worth it Emma! Anyone who messes with my best friend gets the beast"

What would I do without her?

I just laugh and try to calm myself and decide to tell her everything

"That bitch"- is the only thing Anna says

"Anna, what are you going to do"

"I told you I would kick their asses"

Anna starts going inside before I can stop her

She looks for Regina and when she does she runs towards her and punches her in the face

Regina's nose is bleeding

"Anna stop!"- I grab her arms

"You mess with my best friend you mess with me"

"That was awesome but out of control"- I tell Anna - "now what?"

"Now we find Brian"
