A Drop of Poison
(Lights up on William. He is center stage.
his hands are tied behind an old tree. His face
is masked. The scene is set in a small clearing.
It is spring and the grass is a bright green,
the flowers have all blossomed
and the trees are flourishing. The entire clearing
is engulfed in silence. Not even the sounds of
new born birds chirping Can be heard.
William is struggling to get out of his bonds.
There are rustling sounds coming from a near
by shrub and William stops Struggling for a moment.)
WILLIAM
Hello? Is anyone out there? Hello?
(Rustling continues. William
starts to get edgy.)
WILLIAM
Are you the one who tied me up?
(Will stays quite for a moment before he starts
questioning the mysterious noise again.)
WILLIAM
Why don’t you answer me coward! You’ve tied me up, and taken me away from my home. Now you don’t even have the courage to face your victim! Show your self!
(The rustling eventually comes to an end
and all is quiet again. William waits to see
if his captor has the guts to show up. When
he doesn’t William gets angry.)
WLLIAM
Fine! Be a coward! But believe me when I say the moment I become free from these retched bonds I will find you!
(William begins thrashing
trying to free himself. However, the
rope is too strong and he eventually
gives up. He lowers his head in shame.
Seth enters stage left. A huge grin is
planted on his face and his eyes look
wickedly at Will. His sword is placed
on his left side. Seeing that William is
obviously frightened he Decides to mess
with him. Seth takes out his sword
and lightly pokes Will. William jolts
at the light pain in his shoulder.)
WILLIAM
Is this how you choose to show yourself? Hiding behind a sword you’re no man, just a pathetic fool!
(William continues to struggle and
Seth’s eyes gleam sinfully at Will
as he continues to torment him.
He looms over Will and plucks a
Few stray hairs from the top of his
Head.)
