After a quick shower and getting dressed, I combed my hair and styled it into a French braid, I made to leave the room but was pulled back into a hard body, I moaned slightly, “baby, we have to go” he sighed slightly “I know, it’s just the moment we leave the room, all hell is about to break loose, and I wanted to hold onto you before the shit hits the fan” I knew exactly what he was talking about, I wanted to stay in this moment forever, but knew we couldn’t.

I pulled away and turned around pulling him by his hand with me. We trailed down the stairs and met the others on their way into Dean’s office, surprisingly I felt fine, the completed mating between me and Sky served to form an anchor for me and the rage although it was still there was easier maintained than it was before, more filtered, that’s not to say I wouldn’t react to the prick, but I would say I was more grounded, and Sky helped to chip away at the anger I held, he was my balance. Sky hadn’t said anything or made any moves up to this point but I had felt through our bond, how on edge he truly was by Dean and it was only maximised by the fact that he was an Alpha by blood, I hoped to the moon Goddess that Dean wasn’t stupid enough to do anything because, I don’t think Sky as mellow as he is would stand for any challenge when it came to me, and the result would end in a challenge for Alpha something we didn’t need right now.

Entering the office we all took our seats, I nodded in acknowledgement to Kade and gave him a small smile, he seemed a lot more happy than he had before we left, I had a feeling things were progressing nicely with him and his mate and I smiled wider thinking of the happiness I had experienced with Sky, knowing that I wanted that for my brother. We got all the preliminary security reports discussed and out of the way before we launched into the information gathered about the rogues.

“According to the trackers that were sent out, the initial gathering of the rogues we encountered have tripled and continue to grow over time, there are close to 300 rogues gathered, we still don’t know what it is their after but they seem organised and methodical and their methods aren’t those of the ravage and feral nature that we know them to be, they are acting more pack which  means the normal method of fighting rogues are not going to apply, whereas feral rogues tend to fight on anger more than instinct, allowing for us to predetermine their actions and adjust accordingly, these are more skilled fighters and we need to prepare even more” Mikey paused and looked over at me and Sky ”having found all this out I don’t like that my pack is alone and unattended, so I discussed it with Dean and the pack are going to be relocated here temporarily, all signs point to a war and upcoming battle, strategy needs to be discussed and the other Alpha’s contacted, by bringing down the pack, training can commence, for now work and school are going to be put on hold and training is a priority”.

It seemed like Dean had no input letting Mikey take the reins, I didn’t look over at him once directing my full attention to what was taking place, in light of the information any showdown he had planned whether it was now or sometime down the line was taking a back burner to try and form a strategy against the rogues. The meeting came to an end and we all made to exit the office, I caught Kade’s eye, he wanted to talk to me, but Mikey came up beside me told me he needed to talk, I smiled at Kade and mouthed ‘later’ to him before walking off with Sky and Mikey, we entered his room and took a seat on the couch.

“The council have been in contact Kades, they have granted your request in viewing the archives and have sent a representative to escort you to their location, and he should be arriving tomorrow. You and Sky should go and try and see what you can find, but Kades not too long, we need to get a handle on the Pack training and you two are the best we have got, you’ve already had a week off, so try and make it as quick as you can, I have a bad feeling about all this, the rogues have never been so bold before, and working as a unit has me more worried than anything, whatever information they have has so be important, otherwise they wouldn’t be doing this, so be careful the both of you and hurry back, we need any advantage we can get over this” he ran a hand across his face he looked kind of haggard like he hadn’t been sleeping much, I walked over and gave him a hug. “ you’re working too hard Mikey, you look burned out, you need to rest, you’re not doing anyone any good by running on fumes, you need to be alert and aware, if you carry on the way you are you’re going to be on edge and not rational. Have you eaten” his expression said it all “you lie down, and get some rest I’ll link Jenna and tell her to bring you something to eat, I’m sure with all the work you’ve been doing you haven’t seen much of each other” I watched him lie on the bed without a word, the fact that he didn’t protest shows how exhausted he really was, we walked out and before the door shut I heard him call “ thank you Kadie” I smiled and linked Jenna, Sky pulled me into a hug, and we made our way to prepare for our trip to the council before the training session this evening.

This training session was brutal, not for me obviously, but it seemed like everyone couldn’t grasp the fluidity and grace while working with their wolves, today we combined all the groups together because it seemed like the guys were having the same problems that I was, I stood at the front and looked at down at all of them, I told them to relax in their forms. “I know what the problem is, most of you here don’t understand that the wolves and our humans are not two separate entities, we are supposed to be one, you think of yourself as the human, and your wolf as an attachment, that is wrong, you and your wolves are two halves of a whole, without each other neither would exist as a complete, the rogues exist because they give themselves over to their wolf halves existing more feral and animal like, in order to move as one with your wolf you have to accept and let your wolf guide you, trust your wolf, they have old spirits and have more knowledge than we give them credit for” with that I dismissed them sending them to get better acquainted with their wolves.

That evening was a quiet one me and Sky watched a film in our room, I was pleased with the progress of the pack, they seemed to be taking what I said about their wolves and putting it to use, wherever I went through the pack house they seemed to be in silent conversations with their wolves, which shows that their willing to try and that’s all it takes, as I went to bed that night I had hope for the first time when it came to the pack, and maybe just maybe we can get through this. Whatever this is.
